My opinion of Weston, not that anyone cares is that he is a kid who has worked hos ass off to get what he wants and is willing to do what it takes to keep it, I admire that. I've kicked my bike off a stand out of anger before, regretted it right after and I punched a guy at an arena cross at the cow palace in the 80s. I've also thrown a temper and kicked my bike because the chain derailed while leading a very big race in front of a big crowd, I didn't even realize the crowd was watching until I was putting my chain back on.

The thing I dislike about him is the same thing I dislike about Stewy 7 years ago and RV 2 years ago, his douchey fans. I respect every rider for one reason or another, i don't need to be a nut swinger for one guy. I'm a fan of racing and motocross.

The Peick hating kind of reminds me of the Tyler Evans hating. The negativity and "bad boy" classification gave him this persona, that he then played on, boosting it even more. If it wasn't for that, he would of faded even faster. Granted, I think Peick is a far better rider than Evans, he's getting the same effect. Combine that with his background, and it's easy to see why people like him and root for the guy.

This is real easy.

1). Appearance. WP looks like a guy who would crawl out of a cave, break you in half and eat you, then crawl back in his cave and go back to sleep. So he already looks like a bad ass.

2). His heart. He hates not doing well. He may not have tons of natural talent but he has worked harder than any other privateer in recent history to gain what he now has. He was so underrated just a few years ago it was silly.

3). He actions. Weston will always make his intentions known on the track. When he sees what he wants he goes after it. He makes no excuses. He fights very hard to do well.

You combine these three traits and it is easy to determine that many will relate to him as bad ass guy.
Because he is.

Not intended to hijack the thread at all but Evans had some pretty good rides as on a 125 as a pretty big guy, he's better than people remember.

Oh definitely! Not trying to discredit his abilities, but his "image" kept him notable longer than his riding did.
He's was a really cool dude and super friendly the couple times I got to talk with him. Image sells though.

I really can't see the fascination with this guy. He's not some hulking bad-ass, or Chuck Norris reincarnated ( as past threads have suggested ). He has never been a win threat, nevermind a title threat. ( unless you count overseas wins -Finland, Bercy - but that's not what we are talking about.....) He's a good rider who fades over the course of a series, a hot head who kicks his bike off the stand after an LCQ and who punches guys in the neck with their helmets on, he's a good rider with a bad attitude. And he's now 2 races down and $5000.00 poorer than he was two weeks ago.

Reed is........well we all know Reeds long list of accomplishments and contributions to the sport. Soo....can anyone tell me why he would be injecting Peick blood?

You obviously don't like Weston and that's your choice, but it sounds like you have a bias against him more than anything.

I think the OP should re-name this catastrophe, "The Revenant", cause this mother scratcher just wont die. It's
one of those disasters that you just can't keep your eyes off of despite your better judgement!

Perhaps the mods could add a HOF within the confines of the Dumbgeon using this failure as a benchmark for which all others will be compared (which clearly would be a daunting task)?

It is clear that the moderators are mad at Vital members and are keeping this thread alive to serve as Vital's version of waterboarding for torture purposes.

Just for a body size reference (and I've posted this before). This is from the St. Louis round in 2014. Peick is next to Wil Hahn. Also, this was seconds before Wil Hahn got seriously hurt on the first rhythm section.
