I just dont get this . reading the other threads , it seems most people think the only reason Dungey beat kenny last year was the bike . Did they not see the season before , where Kenny won by the skin of his teeth on the same bike ,and imo bar a mud race ,dungey would of won . My point is ,both guy s at 100% same bike whatever . they are going to be really close . But people here seem to think that if Kenny does nt beat Dungey by a mile there is something wrong . must be the bike must be because he left aldon etc etc . End of the day Dungey is just as good of a rider .i am a big Kroc fan . but if he win s a championship next year , it will be close no matter what . Imo what has changed is Kroc was better at riding a POS KTM than Dungey was . now Dungey finally has a good bike again .

That's just the KTM fanboys talking shit about the Suzuki because they are bitter and think he would be better on the KTM. Crazy bastards, right? That's what I'm getting from the Roczen training thread. Roczen is worse because of the bike. Smile

imo i think there are a couple guys faster than dungey, maybe even a few. but he is the most consistent so does that matter? tomcat, roczen and even maybe canard and barcia? could win championships if ducks all aligned properly. i mean lets be real here folks....

Faster till he crashes. I like that Roczen kid though, wish he would have stayed orange.

Anyone remember that ass whipping he brought to the 450's at the 2010 MXdN? On the hills at altitude and he was tearing 450's a new ass with a 250. Spunky little fugger....

Vital expert people said KR was going Red this year (how wrong were they!!!!) but I could see him being on Team Green next year .. I highly doubt he will be back on RCH or Suzuki, then again Suzuki is getting a new bike in 2017...going to be interesting to see what he does.

Dungey's strengths have become his calm cool demeanor coupled with a great machine, instincts & conditioning. Many forget that he once was known to nut up just a few short seasons ago ala J-Law. Nowadays, You don't see him up front battling at the beginning of the season. That's because he knows it is a long season and dudes are outta their minds fighting to win right off the bat, and that always ups the odds for some early season chaos. He hangs back and lets the races, and the season come to him. He has also shown lately that he can be aggressive and ram it in where he needs to, whereas once it was thought he couldn't or wouldn't. He is the top choice to win another SX title this year. If you think about it he has lost a few titles to bad luck ie. fuel, fuel again, broken chain, won't start etc. So he is actually much higher rated than his already impressive numbers show. Imo.

K-ROC is lightning fast and confident. When he was with AB he was also consistent. Soon as he dropped AB I winked to my buddies and said, "watch his results". And sure enough he began to fumble. His dad has his opinions as to why. And there may be some truth there too. But my opinion is that K-Roc is still a tad young mentally. Not saying the dude can't win, or won't win, just that his maturity level has been his weakness. Again my opinion. His raw speed is faster than Dunge yes. But statistically I think Dunge has a better chance based on the mental advantage.

this is just not true . go look at the lap time especially outdoor s .Dungey will be right up there in fastest lap time s . and there s alot of races he is the fastest . people still just brand him as this guy who goes around in 4th place waits for everyone to fall off . 95% of the all the races dungey has been quicker than canard and barcia . i think him ,kroc and tomac are all around the same . its hard to say with tomac , thought maybe he is the fastest ,i need to see more than 3 races at the start of the yr to say that dungey would nt of got as fast as him. by mid season.

You don't get 5.4 seconds A LAP in the course of a season
Tomac is hands down the fastest guy outdoors

Roczen, not sure. He's kind of a mix between Tomac and Dungey
He was faster the first 3 races last SX season, we will see how good he is this year.

There's no way to prove your first statement. We all know how hot Tomac started, but there's no way of knowing how his (and Dungey's) speed would have changed over the course of the entire season.

I would be highly surprised if the results at Hangtown and GH were the same if they ran those races at the end of the outdoor season rather than at the beginning.

I agree Tomac is fastest outdoors but he will need to scale it back a bit if he wants to finish the season imo. Supercross ? We'll see . There were races Dungey was straight up faster than Tomac including Vegas after he had the title wrapped up.

Its his style. He's a flashy rider on a Suzuki. Everyone loves to hate him.

Dungey is the cool calm collected rider that really is like a diesel- not the best at anyone thing except for the most important thing: consistency.

Tomac raced all of SX and started right behind RD a few times, and RD pulled away. But people say Tomac is way fasterWhistling Outdoors was a wash, it was very predictable that Tomac would lawn dart going those speeds, but the Red bike has lots of outdoor intel to draw from. The pumpkin was all new and RD even said they hadn't found a decent base setting in the early rounds...and had even gone the wrong way between some moto's. So RD's pace was off. IMO RD is way better outdoors then at SX. It'll be interesting to see how Tomac does being on an all new Kawi with limited testing this year. Kroc will be scary if he likes his setup on the Zook...because his corner speed is crazy.

I like Tomac as well as Kroc...but for them to even be in the same league as RD they need to be as fast as RD, and keep it on two wheels like RD.

For me the dark horse in SX is Canard. If he can stay on two wheels he'll be right there.

Perhaps you forgot how many SX wins Dungey had in 2015?

Both riders are phenomenal. Both extremely fast. And both consistent (Kenny has been pretty consistent minus 2015). If you look at the very nity gritty. I think it is fair to say that Kenny is a hair faster when he's on it and dungey is more consistent and is a stronger rider towards the end of the series. Is one way faster then the other. Definitely not. That's my 2 cents

Well no I cant but it's not like he had that speed in practice or for some single laps.
He did it 5 motos in a row and was on the way for a 6th.

In Hangtown Dungey was about 5 sec faster a lap than Anderson, Baggett Pourcel in the first moto and about 3-4 faster than Peick, Barcia and Baggett. Same story for GH and lakewood
So it's not like Dungey started the season slow. I just don't believe he would have found the missing seconds during the season. But we're talking about speed. I don't say Tomac would have won the championship the way he rode (imo it was only a matter of time until he crashed himself out)

Dungey didn't have that explosive speed like Roczen and RV to get by somebody......until this year!

Some numbers from the supercross last year. This isn't to prove one thing or another, I'm just kinda bored at work and like numbers.Obviously Roczen got hurt and only raced the first 9, so this is from that.

Canard, Tomac and Roczen have more aggression, speed, and power. However, Dunge is right there and far more consistent. If the Top 4 riders are within a few tenths and Dunge has far less std dve in lap times..... WHO WINS?

I was at Hangtown and can tell you I have never seen anyone ride like Tomac. NO ONE. He was on rails.

You don't win the most mains by a long shot by consistency alone. You do that with speed.

Hard to say someone was the fastest with only two rounds down at the time. Yea, he was on another planet till then I'll give you that, the season is long though with lots of different track types.

The fancy scrubs and BRO lifestyle make Roczen seem faster and that's whats up for many in this sport.
