I buy Seven from my local shop, and he can't seem to keep the stuff on the shelves and is constantly reordering. The price is certainly high, but so is the quality. It's light as hell, breathes well, and fits really good. I have problems with gear sliding down my ass, and Seven gear has a flexible rear panel on the back that hugs your ass really well.

With any product, there are people who want quality and are willing to pay, and people that will bitch about the fact there's a premium option. I promise you they are doing just fine, I see a lot of it out on the track.

It was perceived to be better because it was designed by an actual RACER who was still RACING. Hallman's logo back then was a great big "H" with a star on either side of it, and kids like myself would have walked on our lips over ebola-laced glass to get ANYTHING that had that logo on it. It doesn't surprise me one little bit that they can't keep Seven gear in stock. Bubba is on a perfect path here - the one blazed by Hallman. And yes, I own Seven gear, and yes, I love it; and no, I don't give a crap if someone takes me for a poser. Ignorant, judgemental people are nothing new in this world. The gear is cool but it's just too expensive. When I compare with brands like shift and fox the price gap is a little too big. I rarely see people wearing Seven here in the Netherlands. Actually think I've only seen it one time.

What's funny is the price isn't that much higher than the other brands premium lines. Seven has two lines, one is $260 and the other is $305. Fox Flexair is $295, One Industries Vapor is $260, TLD SE Air is $250, MSR NXT $240...I could go on. They don't sell a mid-level and low-end gear, they are a premium brand. Get over it.

I was out at the TLD Laguna store in early October and actually chatted with Troy himself. I asked about the 2016 season and he said that he was super excited to have the TLD team head east, which was awesome because I am out here, and I finally get a chance to see the lites team in action. The topic turned to James and Troy (without provocation) said "I'm really excited to see him back out there. I just chatted with him yesterday. We are selling our portion of Seven back to him..." I asked for the rationale behind the sale and he said that it was really tough doing business with the family, and its very hard for them (TLD) to work with James in regards to approvals, and timelines.

James approved or had a hand in everything they produced, and it seemed that it was a challenge to get new lines out that would make it into production without headaches etc. He also mentioned that he had lost 2 designers as a result of working on the Seven line, mostly due to the stress of the projects. There was mention of the fact that they missed trade shows and product launches because things were not 100% approved, and James just didn't see the reason he had to approve stuff to get it out the door on time. I remember the words "just doesn't care" being used...

My own take is this - James and Troy are in 2 vastly different worlds. Troy has a business to run, and a big brand to keep an eye on. James is an enigma. He does what he wants, when he wants and how he wants, and for him, Seven is a pet project that won't matter that much to him of it doesn't succeed without the involvement of TLD. I think that the Seven line was a great idea, and hopefully it will continue.

Jake looked good in it last year. The zebra strip stuff looks the best but just a fox knock off from the 80's. The tight fitting jerseys only James or the monster girls should wear

I didn't trust it yet when I bought expensive gear so I went with Thor. I tried Alias A1 and I hate it. If they expand the colors and sizes I may consider it.

I see the A class riders with it, not many C/B guys with it.

I quit asking guys in high school if they had a bike when I saw then wearing a Fox hoddie.... because I already knew the answer.

What my point was, aside from the actual quality of the gear, seVen is the new Fox in terms of crossing over to the people who want to look like they ride and race, but don't know how to throw a leg over a machine.
I don't see why people care if someone wears fox shirt, and they're not a rider. So I can't wear a shirt to support my favorite football team because I never played a down?

I'm curious how you have found the durability on the Seven gear? Does it stand up to regular riding and mx abuse, multiple washes, etc? That's first thing I thought of when I saw and felt the gear for the first time, especially the jersey. Seems really easy to rip or tear

The gear is lightweight and durable. Sure the gear is pricey but just wait until it goes on sal e if that is the problem. I truly feel it is the cleanest looking gear out there. After all who doesn't want to wear the gear of a pioneer/badass moto rider. It will always rain yellow.

I don't think I would ever pay the premium to run seven gear, but I definitely notice it on practice days out at the track. It's cool gear that really stands out with out trying. I see them around enough they must be doing alright.

I know that they make it for performance/racing purposes but to survive they will have to come out with a cheaper gear line for the average joes. Or they don't, and still sell to the bubba fans or supported riders that's ok too. I work in a shop and the fox stuff flies off the shelf. They are a household name and make gear sets to cater to everyone. I personally buy whatever I get the best deal on (employee discount) and it varies all the time. Even if we carried seven gear I don't think the shop cost on a set would be worth it.

I think it is a great brand. My only problem is that I ride a bright orange clay private track and ftt and your gear is stained so bad the first day out. I need to get Orange gear right? Never bash moto, good times is all it's about in the end.

Now if and only if I were to take the above comment as gospel for James Troy and the business of seven it's self I would venture to say that this would be the end of seven or marked the beginning of the decline as if James does not care to run his brand per the description above would lead me to believe that leaving someone like Troy would be a bad plan because it further takes the responsibility off his shoulders to make those decisions get things in the production also if he continues to thrive and make it good conversely his racing will probably suffer which is unfortunate but amount spent of the gear itself I think it looks great I've never seen about the consent I'm six for about 200 pounds and I would love to try set when I get my hands on it my buddy prints their shirts T-shirts that is so I'm in a get my hands on a couple of those your real soon as well. I personally really hope that the seven year stays alive stays around stays good and is relevant it's cool stuff for sure and having multiple options not gear that comes in for for five years and the company disappears but a good long-standing company like foxes been Thor now Troy Lee theater stables of the gear industry and they're great IMAX in the market for a new set a gear and will be looking at seven among other brands

I imagine you're from my world, under 150lbs and probably under 5'8 or 9. Not like my 6'6 brother who's twice as wide as me in the shoulders and sits in the low 220lb range when trimmed.
