This would be so awesome.
It would be more expensive with the extra "stuff" and still not allowed in the 450 open bike class because at only 100CC less than a 450, it would be too fast to the first turn, too light and therefore illegal. Huh

Exactly! It's funny how they used to have a 500 class, and now have 450s racing supey that are powerful enough to jump out of the stadium, yet it is limited to 250cc 2 strokes.

The 450s are too much for Supercross.

Yup, history repeats itself. Except the 125 class has been killed off already so where do we go from here?

Well, they certainly can be. But for the best SX riders there are?

But, I for one am totally against any of the 'ideas' for highest level SX or MX capacity reductions. The Premier class should be about mastering the bike, and not just the track / competition.

What I'm for, is Equivalency. It won't lead to 2t domination, it would just, perhaps, lead to a bit of diversity. Any manufacturer to make such a bike as the Kawasaki above, or the "YZ390" brochure mock up (in the WR250 thread, I think), could find themselves with a good seller.

Diversity.

In the 70s we had a 500 class in MX that had a variety of capacities used, by various manufacturers. With Equivalency, we could have a bit of diversity back. Sure, most things lead to 'sameness', in terms of engine development, but you might just see a bit of diversity in that 'sameness', with 2ts and 4ts going head to head in highest level racing.

KR got second in the 2012 Seattle SX on a KTM 350 - Moose Can did several events on a 350 - highest 4th,Daytona, I think? KTM / KTHusky are the only manufacturer with a 350 motocrosser - yet, by choice now, the riders almost inevitably use a 450 when on a KTM. There's a Slim chance of Moose Can trying a 350 again next year, but, you never know.

Equivalency. That, and a 125 class in SX, - that could be The class used for an East / West double series, with 250s (of both types) doing all the rounds, and an 250 up to 450 'anything' class is the sort of thing SX (and Highest level MX) could do with, much more so than idiocy such as Joker lanes, multiple mains. But no, we can't have that, can we?

SX has become such a 'production' in and of itself, you'd not get any manufacturer dropping out of it if equivalency was granted. Unless they wanted to really shoot themselves in the foot. Hell, direct manufacturer teams are really not needed. for that show.

Steve Stackable - last 500cc SX champ on a Maico? That's about yours and my teen age years time, GuyB.

x2.

How cool would it be if they changed the 250 class to 125s only, and the 450 class to 250 four strokes only?

If only feld/prater/ whoever grew some balls and adjusted the classes, we might, just might, have interesting big bike racing again..

Call the oems, tell them the new size is 350 and they need one by 2018 and that they can suck it if they don't like it.

Yes I live in a dream world

Go back to 3 classes outdoors (125, 250F and 450F) and 2 in SX (125, 250F). It'll never happen for obvious reasons but it would be great IMO.

I think the premier class should ride unicorns

The fact that a term like "premier class" is even in the motocross vernacular is indicative of a problem stemming from displacement.

We gain a pro 2 stroke class to watch in SX, and keeping riders safe not riding 450s which are too much indoors.

IMO.

Yet your top 10 pro rider said the 250 2 stroke was too slow.

I normally dont get caught up in the two stroke pissing contests, but I would literally put my money down tommorow on this thing.

Yes, 250 2 stroke too slow against 450 4 strokes...

Just watch the TWMX Premix vid and listen to the comments...most prefer riding 2 strokes

I agree completely. And put a 18 year old age limit on the 125 mx class. The 125cc two stroke was always the heart and soul of motocross. Trying to phase out 125cc two strokes has been the worst idea in our sport's history.

I would like it if there were more options of bikes out there but that doesn't mean more bikes in my garage. I can barely afford one old roach.

Smaller bores make better racing.
Everyones WFO so now the riders have to work.

Now, its all timing and corners. Everyone can jump everything.
A decent C class rider can do a lap on a SX track.
The triple is the same size for the last 20 years..except now the 3rd isnt a peak....its a round mound.

Id actually go to the races if it was still 2 strokes. Otherwise its just not as good. It sounds like shit and well, it lost something.
