Assuming he stays healthy through The rest of amateurs what will he do when he turns pro? Pull an AC and get hurt or pull a Webb and dominate? Haven't watched this kid much but know he's fast as hell (using Webb and AC as examples because there supposed to be the superstars)
I also haven't watched much of Forkner riding, and I hope he can add to the class depth. But at this point it's all just slightly educated guesswork.
Different riders have different hype.
Let's go over the most dominant amateur riders the last 5 years or so.
bogle (sx title)
Bell (fastest dude ever for 8 minutes just like he always was)
Webb/Ac no explanation needed
Bisecglia/mcelrath (Both are about where id predict after coming out of a weak class)
So besides AC staying hurt I think they've all done about how I woulda predicted a few years ago.
Forkner and sexton truly remind me of Ac vs Webb. Will be interesting to see if forkner avoids set backs and wins titles like he has the ability to, or if sexton has the better pro career by virtue of being a little bit out of the spotlight nearly his whole am career

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Austin will be very fast.
I like how @Hudd_421 put it as well.
I like the cooper webb career path analogy.
Hype has a way of not working out for the majority of hyped riders. I remeber the first ever really hyped rider to come along, the guy that would be king, Erik Kehoe. Erik was the fastest rider to ever ride an 80 and was so extremely hyped in 1980 you'd of thought he was Christ, he didn't live up to it one bit. Sure he had a good solid career, but a far cry from wheat Yamaha had expected of him. Then it was Troy Blake (RIP), he never broke the top 10 as a pro.
The list continues with riders like Paul Denis, Eddie Warren. Eddie Hicks, Ron Tichner, Surrat, Mike Healey, Jimmy Button, Denny Stephonson, and on and on. Pretty much the only two hyped riders that have lived up to the hype in the last 25 yrears is Stewy and Ricky.
Hype IMO is an evil thing, give me a kid flying in under the raider who has had to work his ass off to achieve, like RV, Dungey and Jeremy Martin any day over a pampered kid who's been told he great all his life.
My Instagram is loaded with Austin Forkner this. Austin Forkner that. Austin Forkner interviews. Austin Forkner going to other continents with Ricky Carmichael, ect.
I'm not saying its a bad thing as I think the kids a total stud on a dirtbike but the hype is 100% driven by the media. People wouldn't be talking about amateurs like they do today if it wasn't for the media.
Its a double edge sward because everyone wants more amateur support and without putting these kids in the spot light early on and creating this hype most people don't care enough to follow. Which translates to less media coverage which translates to less support from company's.
Pit Row
Yeah I know it's half the guys but still. He pretty much made everyone his bitch a lot of weekends.
Watch him in sx this coming year and you will be reminded quickly why he's going to get payed a shit ton next year when he moves to 450.
For the record I don't like sx, but the money does obviously
Adam won his very first sx and won 3 of the first 5 (and his only 5 sx) and finished second when he didn't win. He is definitely a stud in sx especially there's no question there.
It's just most fans forget quickly when a rider is gone a lot like Adam has been, they will be reminded soon this coming year if he keeps it off the ground. I hope him and cooper end up on the same coast.. HOPEFULLY it's only a matter of time till we get to see a race ready Adam slugging it out with cooper.
