Hannah's last racecraft went about 450 MPH faster than any other pro MXer and faster than F1.

No sick triples, there's grass on the track and dust, that can't be motocross.

I would wager if you put todays crop of riders on those bikes and that track in those conditions, they'd be fast but whine like school girls about how horrid it all is.

How many Top Tier Two riders would to be willing to take something, "that if instructions were followed", would go
non detected? Even it says caution "may take 10 years off your life?"...

Why the hell did Poto pay 250k for a trainer? He got that kind of money to throw away? He made MLB or NFL money?...

Don't think he was really singling out Poto either... He's talking about 50 year old bike racers too...

9 pages of drivel and BS and finally someone hits on the right answer. That was easy.

Poto didn't need a trainer to motivate him.

You're either into it or you're not. His wife could have pushed him for free. Well, she costs money, but you get the idea.

You guys are fucking idiots if you think they are just casually training like you would. Dungey said it HIMSELF on pulp mx about a month ago, he was TRAINING WRONG he said that it is hard to train yourself because these trainers know exactly what you need to do to be at the top level. Aldon baker knows look at the history books. YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT if you think this is still 1991 and you dont need a regiment. Even jeff stanton said it is way different now a days.

I could go on but I think you get the point, he is very connected to the current MX scene. His comment about PED use are his and you can't really compare speed from different era's of our sport due to technology advances but one thing can be known from this thread. In today's MX scene, Bob would pretty much rule the mental side as shown by the reaction he got from a simple question and answer session. Think of what he could do to the competition if he was really trying!!!!!

Man that was truly badass!!!. I got tired of the slowmo so I sped it up to 1.5, looks really natural when they swap! And swap they did, damn. Did these 500s even have what would be something like a modern Power Valve? Given the power on those things I can just imagine how fucking skilled these guys were with the clutch and throttle control. Being a 125 rider I can really appreciate how good their clutch technique must have been especially when the traction is less than ideal on the older track.

Really impresses the hell out of me since I spent the weekend trailriding and camping where there was some serious slick stuff everywhere. I hardly ever ride in the mud since I moved to TX but this Shit was clay based monkey snot and you had to be on your toes. By Sunday I found myself powersliding and clutching through the trees. Between that and getting my weight into the outside peg I found myself with a new level of control which is still nothing compared to what it took to compete with the likes of Hannah in his day. Makes you wonder how hard these guys had to work the 500 pegs and clutch on slick hard corners too. Ridiculous.

Thanks for posting that btw.

Steroids have been around since the 1930's. Pretty sure the 80's and 90's were really popular for doping in any athletic sport.

One more comment about the old dudes the young whipper snappers might not realize, back than there were a ton more people racing back than (it was also WAAAY cheaper!) Some times they had 2 to 3 gates full of 40 guys just in the junior class at Saddleback.
It was a real pain to move up to the pro class, crap it was a pain to win the junior class overall. The competition was pretty deep the last couple years, but nothing like it was when Hannah was racing!

The Hurricane has spoken. Too many bitches in here with sand in there manginas. Hannah is right up there with RC, DeCoster, and Robert as the baddest mofos to ever race motocross. None of those dudes needed to pay some dude mucho donero to help them train.
