Seen this on Instagram maybe I'm just reading this wrong but sounds like either retirement or is it him parting ways with discount tire
So you edited the " Sadly its the end of the road for me " for extra flare ???

his post read " Sadly its the end of the road for me and discount "

after MEC in an interview Reed pretty much said he raced to meet contract obligations..Perhaps it was in his Discount Contract to race the MEC...and now the end of the road with DT

yeah I'm sure Reed decided he didn't want the money and exposure from a MAJOR outside the industry sponsor Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I'll believe that when I see him on some team that also didn't need that type of funding/exposure

More than likely the bean counters at Discount determined that MX/SX as a whole has a poor ROI for selling passenger car tires. But don't let logic piss on your sweet one-liner.

Considering his hashtag said He is NOT retiring, I think his Discount sponsorship was going to interfere with what he has planned on the new team.

Nice catch. I also noticed he didn't scroll down enough to show the "#no #im #not #retiring" part either. I think the OP is the one trolling.

Actually the OP is not...Reed went back and editied his original post. It read exactly how the OP screen shot it.

I actually purchased my last set of tires from Discount Tires because they support the sport and they have multiple locations around Denver.

It's getting pretty late in the off season for Reed not to have anything concrete that we know of.

Having everything in order now: team, bike, health, training, practicing is crucial to success in January. I hope he has something up his sleeve.

In that case, Reed was trolling hard. lol

FWIW, I heard they couldn't agree on tablecloth fabric. Discount wanted linen, but Reed wanted a thick vinyl since he has kids and kids spill shit all the time.

Try conflict with where he is going.....Possible existing blue team that has recently picked up Monster as an additional sponsor that has a sponsor conflict with Discount...

He must be cheap these days.
I think you have that backwards. At this point in his career you can bet Chad isn't going to ride for free.

So the Chad Reed/Yamaha deal isn't happening now because his relationship with Discount Tires is over? Is it possible that Yamaha and Monster Energy are funding the Yamaha effort without Discount Tires? I must have missed the part where he won't be on a Yamaha anymore in the IG post.

The Kardashians aren't as dumb as they look. Well...maybe that's not entirely true, but...they know how to keep their names in the press. Reed knows how to throw out the bait on social media, and keep people interested...

One thing for sure, having Reed out there does add a lot of "you never know" spice to the gate. I don't know how many wins he's got in him...or if he even has one left, but the sport is better with him in it. I hope he doesn't retire this year. I'd like to at least see one more year of Stewart & Reedy on the track together.

I thought JGR was a Pirelli team? Doesn't discount tire sell Pirelli? They are the only current yamaha team picking up monster.

It would be smart for RCH as he is one of the best testers, could benefit Kenny in the title fight

I bought four sets of tires at Discount in the past three years. Partly because of their support for the sport.
