I heard him many times there, never spoke with him due to not having a use for him. But I began to notice how great he was with all the podcasts. Eventually, he approached us on a podcast and began shooting the shit.. turns out he wasn't so bad after all. Much respect for him now after sitting back and watching who he truly was as a radio host.

Love everything pulp. Literally would not be able to survive my desk job without the show and archives.

Im afraid to even imagine would life would be like without Pulp.. Hope we never have to see times like those.

Like the show! Dig the insight from the people that have been there. Really like the one off interviews with the guys like Dean Baker, etc.

DV was really great the other night after MXdN. And DV should be in charge of the music. He knows what's up.

Really wish he would do an all-tech show. Him and Berlutti could just talk about wrenching, trick tips, etc.

The worst part of the show is the readers emails and voice messages. I skip past that stuff.

Steve Matthes is like Jeremy Clarkson - you either love him or you hate him. He speaks his mind and can be crude at times but that's why I enjoy listening to his shows, because he's honest and doesn't give two shits about what people think of him.

Pulp is great. I appreciate everything he does but I don't have the time to listen to every show. Can someone recommend a show we should all listen to? Other than the doc-u-men-tay-shun show, of course. That was epic and let's assume that everyone who has logged onto vital has listened to that one. Same with the T Alessi / DV show. Other favourites out there? If we can donate some bread for the dogs Steve, just let us know.

I really don't understand all the Gibbs hate. He's a kid who is doing something he's passionate about. When was tits ever passionate about it? No offense to tits, cause I think he was good too. My point is, have any of you ever actually talked to Gibbs? Like outside the show. He's a stand up dude and loves the sport just as much as Steve. Besides, it's not like he's on the entire time. Man I'd love to see how many of you guys are truly exceptional at what you do. I imagine if there were dozens and dozens (pulp fan count) of people watching/listening to you work and critiquing every little thing that you may struggle sometimes too. Some of you probably don't even need the audience and struggle just fine on your own. All I'm saying is give the dude a break already. The pulp show is excellent just the way it is. I swear if you all won the lotto you'd bitch about the taxes. Just be fucking happy about what you're getting.... FOR FREE

I listen to so much Matthes content now that I don't know what I'd do if he stopped. I've gotta let my Sirius XM contract go because I rarely have time for Stern anymore. Plus I've played hockey all my life, so now I even get to listen to his Hockey Pod. It's all Matthes all the time lol.

Love DV, Ping, JT$, Weege, Kenny (acquired taste), and Keefer. I understand the need to change it up once in a while, but I'm not a fan of the monster girls on the show. Though the one with the Jenna Haze was pretty good, and Pookie rules.

If there's one issue I have with Steve, it's his insistence that the two stoke is dead and should not come back. Even when faced with guys like RJ and MC among lots of others who think that for the good of the sport, it would be the best thing. He loves the technology aspect, and probably his paycheck from RacerX (who run the nat's and are thus in the manufacturers back pockets), but seems to be close minded to what is happening to the roots of the sport. His opinion is heard so much now that it's probably starting to carry some weight, and I fear the consequences of that scenario long term.

Steve, any chance you would do an "ask me anything" thread? I'm sure lots of listeners have questions about the pods or things we've always wondered about the show while listening?

I have always wondered (and this is a feather in your cap) how the shows manage to have more sponsors than most privateers!? Especially when it's competing brands like Fox and Fly, I think that's incredible. Also a nod to those companies for being cool with that.

In radio, you need to:

1. Be able to read.
2. Be able to spell.
3. Be able to pronounce words into coherent sentences.
4. Multitask

He can't do any of that. Its funny to me. Poor fella.

As far as Gibbs goes Jharper you are missing the point. I'm sure he has passion for the sport and is a good dude. None of that matters when you can't read or spell (kind of important as a producer) and are so immature you yell obscenities at everyone. Plus...he's got to STOP TALKING. STOP. Producers should only speak when spoken to.

You can tell Steve has had this conversation with him. The last couple shows he spoke way less and it was music to my ears.

I got to meet Steve and sit in on a Pre Race Pulpcast at the Dallas SX a couple years ago when I did the BTO Sports VIP program. I saw him later in the pits and he told me I was fucking crazy because I told him the best part of the experience was watching the Pulpcast being recorded live. Big fan. Never miss a show.

I like Gibbs. He actually rides and can relate and is just a normal guy we all see at the track on Sunday. Peter (tits) rarely rode and was unrelateable to the show and its hosts. Keefer and Ping are both gold!

All of the podcasts are great and I listen to every one that he puts out. As far as Gibbs goes, he does suck but that has become a part of the show. Everyone sits and waits for the moment he fucks up. Howard Stern has been busting his producer Gary's balls since the 80's and he has made over a $billion. Seems to generate the most voicemail's, guess it's the love/hate relationship.
