The Monster Energy Cup is Feld's testing ground. I think it had a LOT of the right ingredients.

The original rumor was that the changes were for '16 and would be announced at the MEC...

The top ten are protected by provisionals, and if they didn't qualify through their heat race or the semi, maybe they don't deserve a spot on the gate. Either way they would have two chances. One of the top riders, Seeley I believe, failed to qualify for a national because he was 11th in points and had a crash in the first session and never got in a decent qualifying lap. I would love to see expanded coverage all the way around, but if it's unrealistic to lengthen the program then maybe eliminating the LCQ or semis might be an option, if they went to a two moto format. I'm fairly neutral, but wouldn't be opposed to some minor tweaking, if it's in the overall best interest of Supercross. At least we get all of the races live on TV now.

I really like the idea of a 2-main format, similar to moto points scoring. 10 laps for 250, 12 laps for 450. Highest combined points overalls the event.

Eliminate the 250 E/W format and make the 250 class premier alongside the 450s. Introduce a Pro-Sport E/W class for the privateer and non-factory or factory support riders. Riders qualifying from the AX series must place Top 10 in points in Pro-Sport to be eligible for the premier 250/450 classes.

Top 3 250 riders + Top 3 450 riders in a 5 lap "dash for cash" + points for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd

Head-to-head races for top 6 qualifiers for main event gate picks

Mandatory competition red flag at halfway point. Riders line up in order for staggered start

Make a Honda ATC 3-wheeler class. It would be mandatory that they HAVE to complete every triple and blitz all whoops or they are DQ'd

Get the crowd more involved with the racing. Offer raffle tickets at each event for $10. If their ticket gets drawn, they get to pick any rider's bike that they want. They get 2 laps on the track. 1st lap is for sighting. 2nd lap is balls out. If they turn a lap time within 20% of the slowest qualifier they get to keep the bike OR their pick of litter from the event's Monster Girls for the night.

Introduce a Monster Girls class. Must ride topless. No LCQ, they hash it out in a baby-oil wrestling match.

I started seriously, then realized IDGAF. I'll support SX no matter what. I'm done now.

What they need is tracks that encourage great racing.. look back at the great battles, and see what kind of course provides the best bar to bar stuff, and build them like that.

I'd like to see them go back to old school rough tracks , the 90's races were brutal, yest the racing was the best ever, and i dont recall guys getting carted off with major injuries every other week.

People will pay to see close racing, no format change will alter that.

I wouldn't mind seeing some minor changes. If they do go to a two main format, the semis for the 450s would probably be eliminated so there wouldn't be an issue with time. I don't think that any changes made to the points system would result in losing any of the current fans, and am willing to accept some growing pains in the interest of expanding the sport and making it possible for more riders to earn their living racing motorcycles.

This should all be broadcast live in a six hour telecast to be shown on a new, all motocross TV channel launched by Monster and Feld...but if not, I'll still be watching too.

With dirt seemingly to be a premium for the supercross tracks I can't think they build a lane just to be taken one lap a race. Not to mention there are only a stadiums that really have enough floor space for them to be worth squeezing in. I really would like to see the 250's have more East/West races. Like it used to be. Points still count for your respective coast, you just have to fight better competition a few more times to get them and the cream rises to the top. And for the love of Jeebus please stop counting 250 supercross points for a national number. And as much I liked DD her twitter segments were getting old. I know they did it as down time for track maintenance but it was awful. Do something like NASCAR. Have a tech/mech. segment about sag, suspension valving, EFI. Anything. Most of us watch this and other motor sports because we're gear heads and like things with an engine. Do what NASCAR does. Have a cut-away bike and have Fro or Windham (and please not RC) explain some stuff. As far as the points thing goes. Please no chase style format. Points for fastest qualifier, most laps lead, etc. etc. would be better. Just my $.02 though...

The best racing was before 4 strokes came into play.

What I would like to see:

Dropping LCQ completely
2 mains for both 250 and 450
A 2 stroke race
Decent purse money for riders who are not factory riders

Bullshit, Privateers have had more hole shots and success on 4 strokes , The gap between the privateer 2 strokes and Factory bikes was huge,
The racing is closer and better or as good as it was when everyone was drooling over Johnson, Baily , and all them.

Yep, the 450 is the great equalizer. In the 250s, the gap between factory and non-factory rides is still pretty big though.

Hopefully they make it more of a motorsport racing event and less of a circus show. Get rid of the WWE rider intro videos and fireworks. One main event with the top 10 from the 250s and 450s together since that is best 20 riders at any given event.

The fireworks are all part of the show. Ever been to a NASCAR race? The spectacle is what puts butts in seats.

No I have never been to a nascar race or even watched one on tv. Why the hell would I do that? I have been to over 40 SX races going back to the mid 80's. I get it. People (even on this board) just want entertainment and sensation fulfillment. To hell with the fact supercross was once a racing sport that has turned into a wwe/fireworks/tits n ass/rock concert circus show. Fuck it. Lets come up with ideas to make as much money off the riders as possible since that is what is good for the sport according to most.

Subtle changes will suffice, I would make each stop have a few differences. For instance in no particular order.... Have your standard events such as 20 lap main events with the added bonus of fastest qualifier gets a point bonus. Heat race winners earn a bonus point, and the holeshot winner in the main gets a bonus point. Keep the regular points system for the race. Another round we can switch it up with two 12 lap main events along with 1 lap heaters for points. Standard practice during the day, followed by 1 lap heaters for those who qualify similar to standard SX. Then two 12 lap main events for 450's and two 8 lappers for 250's. Will score as 3 moto format just like Loretta Lynns, each holeshot adds a point for the rider who gets it and the 250 racers will only do two mains for those who qualify out of practice. Or Matthes can relax, and understand that our sport actually has a great setup that allows the little guys a fighting shot. Maybe a few updates points wise, and the AMA to actually do the job they are supposed to do and we will have a more efficient sport.

P.S. I am going to miss Dianna

You think the intro videos and opening ceremonies are unique to Supercross? No. This is done in the NFL, NBA, Indycar, etc. An entertaining show is what people want out of a live sporting event. Supercross is still a racing sport. You're being rather over dramatic comparing it to WWE or a circus. We can now watch every race live on a major sports network but shit that still isn't good enough for some people.

I'd also like 2 mains. Main 1 8 laps. Main 2, 12 laps inverted start, more points than heat 1. Mains would be ran back to back no heading back to the pit

So if it's not done on your terms, it's crap?
