I really wanted to see RV2 racing at the USGP but could care less about seeing him at the MEC A1 etc. in the future.

I wish him all the best and hope he enjoys retirement.

I simply don't get it. If he is retired, why the hell is he riding opening ceremonies. Oh ya, so he can collect a check for just showing his face. Geez rv, race or go home and retire.

He did retire. Blink He has obligations to Monster and kawi , but that doesn't stop him from hitting the local tracks to go ride with his family , which he does.

You know Brad Lackey showed up at the USGP and was going to do a parade lap until that old RM500 he was riding wouldn't start. Wonder if anyone thought " Jesus Brad , you're here , why not race?....or GTFO! "

Ok. I have to say, this is the first time that I'm happy that RV retired.

2 strokes are dead, slow, and nobody likes them...remember?

None of these pros (retired or not) have any interest in riding 2 strokes b/c theyre slower, harder to ride, and are too light...Silly Silly Silly Whistling

I'm not sure you really understand what makes a professional racer tick. There's no way in hell Villopoto would race unless he felt absolutely 100% confident in his abilities and fitness.

When you race(d) at that level against that level of competition, you aren't going to just show up on a whim and see what happens. Villo himself even said as much...
yeah i hear you, and i'd assume anyone who follows the sport closely understands that. it just seems this isn't like someone rolling up after a long hiatus. he was injured, but assuming he's healed up over the last month or so (i haven't kept up with this i admit) he could have ridden himself back to a place where entering the MEC for fun was a realistic endeavor. mcgrath's farewell tour was competitive but it seemed like he wasn't putting everything on the line to win each race so much as enjoying the moment. anyway, i guess it doesn't matter. although it is hilarious he's riding a two stroke after everyone mocked the idea.

I bet if /when he makes it up to the booth he'll have a smile on his face and a beer in his hand.

What're your thoughts on Windham doing his transfers after he retired? How about Ricky doing opening ceremonies after his retirement?

not sure why there's people [like GT80] being butt pirates about RV rollin hard down the boulevard. I love watching him ride still, just like when MC has a video of him riding the Kawi's you know you wanna watch that shit.

Other than a farewell season like what Ricky and MC did, Kevin has the best out there. Nailin Transfers like a boss, then drinkin pints and watching some races.

Look at that smile...

I think he's finding it a little bit harder to walk away than, maybe, he thought it would be. I think he honestly doesn't like the "during the week" stuff...but I think he really misses being at the races (he's ultra competitive), and REALLY loves riding dirt bikes.

Monster money talks, nothing more IMO...

Yeah, not sure where people are getting the "he'll be riding a 2-stroke at MEC" thing. #TWMPremix should be enough.

Well, its going to be awesome to see him rip up some hot laps. Hope he doesn't just do a wheelie down the start straight!

i hate to break it to some of you day dreamers but nowadays sport is a byproduct of rich ppl trying to sell their stuff. and exactly that is rv doing for them. don't get me wrong, he is an incredible athlete and deserves all the attention but he is also a marketing tool for multiple companies.

I think Windham and RC stuff is cool. Funny thing is I don't seem to remember either of them phoning in their last season of professional racing either. I will stop here.

RPM68-Haven't seen RV ride before or are you just easily entertained? I wanted to see RV ride at the USGP but definitely won't be watching his lap or laps at the MEC. I feel somewhat like a fight fan after the big fight in Vegas the weekend of the Vegas SX final. After all the hype all the expectations only to have RVs 2015 go the way it did I'm over it.

When has this sport ever been about anything other than selling motorcycles?

I just love seeing people with alot of talent ride. Especially when they're just cruisin around. Guys that I grew up watching ride here in Texas hauling ass(Ryan Grantom, James Marshall, Vernon McKiddie, Charles Castloo, my brother) they are another level of smooth. I would rather see a smooth rider than blistering speed any day...When Grantom rides, especially when you ride with him, he looks likes he is just cruising around until 2 laps later he has a 10 second gap on you.

Same thing with RV, watching him do some hot laps at 35% will be cool to see; so yea im easily entertained by guys whos riding ability would make Ron Jeremy jealous.

The North is the 4-strokes.

And of course, the North won. So its fitting.

So you won't watch the MEC at all ? Or just not RV as some sort of protest.

I will be at the MEC but will be looking for a cold Stella during opening ceremonies. I would also be happy to make a toast with any RV fans out there wishing RV nothing but the best in his next chapter. Sure hope he gets his hunting lodge deal that he has always wanted.
