Budds Creek August 20th...missed the call on that one. Looks like Budds got the date that was formerly reserved for the Utah National.

Go full flame on me if it makes you feel better, but I heard Budds was out.

That is a "bucket list" of motocross tracks! Every track has natural elevation change. Not one facility built up on flat ground.
Has anyone around here ridden all twelve (besides Wilbur)? I can only check off 2 of them.

I bet Ridge has at least 10 of the 12.

I have ridden 4 of these National tracks, including three of them multiple times.

I think the ultimate would be (at least) one completely natural "Plymouth" style track. Grass-covered loam and only used for the National.

So glad we have the national back in Mass!! Traffic getting out of there is still going to be like it has been but it's worth it.

I still wish Unadilla would honor their unique past and have a portion of the track be grass. Say, from the landing of Skyshot up until the top of The Wall. It's like a sand section in SX but WAY better!

Hangtown has better viewing if you want to sit on a hill and watch. As you can see 95% of Hangtown from either side of the hill. But if you want to get close to the action it is very difficult to do so.

Glen Helen, you can get right next to the track and get roosted. But it is tough to find a spot to see the entire track as the back canyon and first turn are separated by Mt Saint Helen. So normally you are on one side or the other. However Glen Helen you can keep track of the leaders as they climb to the tops of the multiple hills. Or you can scale Mt Saint Helen yourself and watch with a birds eye view.

Either way the first round is going to have the most hype, and the most uncertainty in results.

Thanks gang, no way around the Washougal drive that has to be late July due to local restrictions and permits. That's why we have two weeks off afterwards. Regardless, should be an epic season, all great and authentic motocross tracks!

Can you give us any insight about a return to Utah? Is that something that may be on the horizon for 2017?

Just curious about the Utah round...(yes, I know it's none of my business)...but it seemed that the Utah Chamber of Commerce did a lot of advertising last year, all through the outdoor season. Will that be something that is taken away this year? I know their ads definitely made me want to go experience Utah.

I don't have any insight on Utah's future but after MMP was sold there were no current options. And Mike Grondahl and Keith Johnson have been working super hard to get Southwick back, and a lot of New England fans were lobbying for its return. The situation has changed with the legion and I think it will be a very successful event, likely live on NBC Network.
As for 2017, we will see...

Thanks for the info. It was pretty cool to see a whole state get behind and support the series.

Sure are different times than when we wouldn't see the races until weeks/months after. Thanks for all the hard work!
