I have no opinion on his choice of going privateer vs. his previous rides with larger teams like TLD, but I do think it's awesome he shares freeriding videos from places I've ridden when I visit my buddy in Pittsburgh. He just posted one the other day from the scramble area in Hillsdale.

I wish him all the luck in the world, he is an amazing rider. He has had a horrific string of horrible luck with injury after injury. He was only healthy for very short periods of his time on both team Pro Circuit and Troy Lee Designs teams.

He needs to get back in race shape, stay healthy, and have fun at the races again.

Kawboy14 just fucking stop man. Where do you come up with this shit? $200K a year??? I promise you Durham has never had a contract pulling down $200K a year.

When did Durham win a moto at High Point?

A happy and healthy Darryn Durham is a dangerous one. I for one hope to see him put in the results he is capable of! Good luck DD!

Wonder if MotoXXX will get on board considering Durham is a punk rock kid.

It's rad that he was able to build the connections over the years to put something like this together. I love hitting jumps and cliffs in the hills like nothing else but I really hope he realizes his window is closing.

Well I didn't say DD made $200k a year so simmer down.

If he wasn't making anything then he really didn't give up anything!

He doesn't want to ride for a team, he wants to do it on his own, it will be more fun that way!

I didn't realize that Pro Circuit and Troy Lee were the only two teams at the Pro level. Some of you guys are very short sighted and way out of touch to what is really going on. Do you think the Pro Circuit riders get gear deals? How about the TLD team, think any of those riders are shopping around for a helmet and gear deal?

There are quite a few semi's in the pits and not all the guys riding out of them have a salary, free airplane tickets and a free room at the Hilton. DD never said he turned down PC or TLD, he just said he could have ridden for a team and there is no reason not to believe that.

There have actually been quite a few guys that are capable of getting a team ride that have gone on their own.

I've always liked Durham, and to go it alone is something I respect him for. I think the wording of his statement is what fired so many people up. Best of luck to you DD.

http://vault.racerxonline.com/rider/darryn-durham/races Look for yourself. Podiums and wins.

But for real. It seems like the same riders keep sucking the sponsor money out of the sport. One mega talented rider wants to do it on his own, and gets shit for it? Wow.
He didn't have any podiums or wins before he got a factory ride. And he hasn't had any since 2012.
