Bone stock RM 250 FMF vs. Bills pipe

I'm looking in to replacing the pipe and silencer on my 07 RM 250 and I was wondering what the difference was between the 2 performance wise. Right now the bike has an FMF factory fatty and powercore silencer. Does the Bills pipe offer any different performance or is the performance difference unnoticeable?

I have the Fatty on my 08 amd like it. Imo the difference would be minimal. Although i really like Bills pipes, something a bit different and trick.

I agree, I have really liked FMF exhausts I have used in the past, but the Bill's definitely has a certain cool factor. I would assume Bill's has a decent setup for the RM.

As Forrest would say, Bills and Suzuki are like peas and carrots.
Used to swap my PC pipe for Bill's depending on track/conditions.
Bills seemed to have a smoother power curve. NOTE: this was on an 03RM125 and may not apply at all.

It was on an 06 rm, but I've tried both. Bills makes really good power, as does FMF. I've never owned an fmf product that fit very well. They always need a little wiggling, shaking, and bending to fit. Not a big deal, never off far enough to send back, but never right. Maybe they buy Pro Circuits jigs after they wear them out? The Pro Circuit is another great choice, though, for better power up high with maybe not as much down low. Pro Circuit stuff always fits perfectly and I believe their silencers are built way better thna FMF. I dotn see myself ever buying another fmf racing silencer.

The FMF Q Stealth, is flat out amazing. Quiet enough to ride in a neighborhood, and better power than even a full on shorty racing silencer. Its big and heavy...very four stroke like, but quiet.

If I were going for a fast time, on a track, I'd bet the smoother power of the Bills would be an advantage. For fun, though, the fmf is tough to beat. Their systems always included a little personality. At my level, it did not help. It probably hurt, but was a lot of fun.

although not FMF or Bills, on a 2008 RM 250, I ran standard and PC pipes and the difference was almost nothing. The standard pipes are really good & (from what I've heard) most after market pipes are basically copies of stock front pipe...

I realize the stock pipes are real good but I don't have a stock pipe so when I replace it, an aftermarket makes the most sense.

Gnarly, dude !

I had a gnarly on my YZ, aside from the nickel plating I really liked it. I could get on the gas hard and it was just kind of smooth power.

Two things:

1) You can't believe everything you hear.

I always liked the fmf sst pipe with the shorty silencer on my 2 strokes. Definantly produced a lot more power on my 03 rm 125, than my bros 03 rm125 with a bills pipe.

My 03 RM250 had a FMF SST on it, it was smooth and revved pretty high. I changed to a PC works pipe, and wow, what a difference. The PC pipe hit alot harder in the low mid and pulled harder into the topend. The SST revved higher, but the PC pipe allowed me to open the throttle and go, the SST was a hardpack type power. Now on my 03 RM125, I have a PC, and tried a FMF fatty and a SST. The SST was stronger than the Fatty, the Fatty felt softer. The PC killed them both, and on a 125 you need everything you can get. None of them helped the no low end issue the RM125 has. So you may as well rev......a 144 is next..............

Bills made a really good power range on my '08, from low to top, plus looked really good in my opinion. The works exhaust colors nicely too as you get some heat cycles through it.

Had a Bills on my 99 RM250 with a PC standard length silencer (out of sock on the Bills). The 99 was a good hit in the middle and pull up top motor and the Bills smoothed the hit and broadened it down a bit lower giving much better throttle control and lessening fatigue. I could start using the inside lines with no rut or berm as it didn't light up as easily. Fit was good also. Highly recommend from my experience.

I have always had great results with Bills.. that said if you are doing any off road I would suggest FMF for durability.. My Bills would get dents from staring at it wrong.

Yes, I know. The q stealth does not fit right, either, but it is an amazing product. So, yes..I'd buy THAT but nothing else they sell.

The q stealth is not r a racing silencer. MX, that is, and is probably too big for offroad racing. Whats its good for? IT IS QUIET. Its amazing what you get by with if you dont make people mad with noise. We'll leave it at that. Its quiet enough to hear the chain slapping against the guides. About the noise level you'd expect if suddenly the factories made two strokes street legal. Also, due to its size, it makes full power.

Every two stroke needs one for the collection. You can have a collection when they cost 129.00 instead of 800.00 like those OTHER bikes.

I have an 06 RM250. I tried a PC pipe and silencer with a V force reed. Was OK but not real crisp down low. Then I put a stock pipe and silencer with a Boyesen Rad Valve and Powerwing. The bike responded much better down low and has more pull thru the entire RPM range. In my opinion I would try the stock pipe first. I know they don't look trick but for me the bike runs alot better.

Loftyair, great point. The last time I called there, Bill answered. and asked what kind of power I wanted from my yz 250 He loved talking about two strokes. Very cool guy to deal with. Nowdays, hed probably do a custom pipe to your specs.

Agreed. I just ruined my bills pipe works pipe (cone look) from a fall. Thinking of going back to FMF.

Full PC system for MX.

FMF Knarly with FMF Q-Stealth silencer for off road.

DEP with PC factory sound silencer for an RM144. MX and off road.

Full PC system with shorty silencer on the 125 for both.

BTW. JFYI. UFO do special RM side number plates for the Q-Stealth silencers.

Mugen Racer. Haven't checked the price of a new RM250 OEM pipe, don't think i want to. PC is as good or better, and lighter. I'd bet It'd be cheaper also.
Typically. V-force for bottom end. Rad Valve for top end.

The rubber boot on my Rad Valve split whilst riding in sand. Not happy Jan!!

I had a PC and had a crash that ruined it!. I thought I would try a FMF Knarly and I was very dissapointed with the loss of top end. The PC was a much better top end power and not really a noticeable difference down low.

Unless you are going the same speed on the last lap of your motos as you are at the beginning it won't matter which pipe you have on your bike.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. The knarly isn't made to give a bunch on top. It's made for more bottom to mid and generally making the power delivery more smooth through the transitions. Honestly i think it's a great " Vet rider " type pipe.

I have a bills on my 15 300sx and am alittle disappointed after reading all the hype about it, I also have the fmf, pc, and scalvini, imo the scalvini is by far the best but also the most expensive. My bills is actuall the "cone" pipe and do yourself a favor , save your $$$ lol.. im waiting on a hgs pipe, supposedly they are really good
