Anyways, 1986 my CR125 came from the factory with optional hard and soft springs,
probably cost Honda all of $20 ????
This is a 2014 SMX300, has the steeper head angle , and 14mm offset clamps, we didnt go for the fork kit as we have Factory Marzocchis and a 108mm Brembo caliper, and we passed on the billet linkages and stuff because we wanted money to put into the motor. Waiting time from order was 7 weeks .

Ralf Schmidt in Upton CA (motoman west) has everything you'd ever need. BTO is in CA too.. so whats the difference between logging on to BTO and ordering a piston, or calling Ralf and ordering a piston?
This is 2015, if you cant google/order a part for a TM, I honestly don't know what to tell you, man. i dont understand why people think they have to stand at a parts counter, and have someone get it off the shelf behind them, when no one does that anymore anyway.
I've ridden those bikes at Budds Creek. They're really nice, my only gripe is the CRF-clone 4 spring clutch, which I believe they did away with (this was 2012). the 300 two-stroke is a stump pulling tractor, the bars they come with are too tall for MX, but other than that..
Your dealers place orders with the gear company's distributor and based upon the size of the pre-orders that the distributors can get from the dealers, the gear companies then proceed to place the order with the manufacturing factory. A complete run of gear for a mid-sized motocross gear company might take a couple of weeks at most to produce in a factory in asia and then it gets shipped to the manufacturer who then reships it out to the distributors, who then send the orders out to the dealers. The factory that produced the order might be making Fox one week, Thor the next and Alias and Moose side by side since they're not as big an order. Then they might be making ski jackets, or paintball gear after that.
Distributors will often order additional stock to fill special orders for their dealers, but nowhere near the amount that they send out to the dealers based on their pre-orders. The actual gear companies don't tend to stock much at all. It's left up to the dealers and distributors to anticipate the demand. Getting stuck with unsold inventory is a one way ticket to bankruptcy and why you see such aggressive sale on last years merchandise.
There isn't some little Korean kid sitting at a sewing machine year round waiting to sew up whatever colours are popular that week. It just doesn't work like that.
But....
Hell, USPSA and 3 Gun Nation shooters all have single or small order gear. Perhaps someone just needs to know there's a market to exploit....

I'm with you on this subject Justin. The best "worst" thread title recently was Why? If you aren't articulate enough to come up with a representative thread title I am not going to bother to read the thread.
Post a reply to: It's going on 2016 and we still can't...
