I think Ryan was a better rider this year and no one can take anything away from him or say that the title results (SX/MX) would've been different - because no one knows. However I think we definitely can say with absolute confidence that we haven't seen Ken Roczen anywhere near his best on more than a handful of occasions this year either. When you cast your mind back to Hangtown and how he looked there (we all know how excruciating back pain can be - not to mention these other problems coming to light); he's done well to last this long and still have a shot at 2nd place in the series.
We have seen Eli Tomac at his best and KROC and RD were getting crushed by 2-5 seconds A LAP! Ryan was the fastest he has ever been, and Kenny wasen't, but either way they got their collective asses handed to them by ET. Who, in their right mind, could argue that either at their best is as fast as Eli this year?

Actually it was a joke, it was just to test how robust the VitalMx's servers are. That way we found out they were made out of titanium !!!

So when US people say RV wasn't at his best Euros call BS and say how week US series is. Ken doesn't have ideal year (still 2nd in points, good year considered to many) and all of sudden he's NO WHERE near his best?
"Some" euros did that (just like some Americans belittle the GPs), but I'm sure that the vast majority of moto fans from all over the world respect both series equally. Just to touch on this one last time; personally I don't think RV was at his best, but that was for a range of different reasons (series adjustment - something many of us had predicted long beforehand). Ken started off the season injured to the point where he could barely ride round in the top 20. He was good at Highpoint, good at Unadilla and good last week, but by his very high standards (we are after all talking about last yrs champ) overall he hasn't looked right, and the points reflect that.

I'm going to chauk this partially up to culture differences between Father Roczen and RCH.

Ken goes from Team KTM managed by DeCoster(The Man, Belgium)with Ian Harrison(South Africa) and influence by Pit Beirer(German) to RCH with poor leadership from RC(GOAT, failed nascar racer, homeschooled) and Hart(Backflips, tattoo, celebrity), Watson(storyteller, B to Cool .

Culture shock Id say.
backflip tattoo celebrity. lol
Guess you have a point with that cultural difference thing. indeed there is one. For example, a german and an american exchange student; before they leave again after one year, their host family dads asking if there was something they didn't like; both will deny first. But if daddy ask again "well we all know there is always something you would do different and if I would put a gun on your head and so on..." the american would still say: No really, everything was perfect! because he knows how to behave.
Now the german after a long time of thinking about it would say: your wife is a horrible cook! because she is...

That said, even if Kennys dad is a little negative on things here, I believe every word he said

The thing is it was almost predictable (like 70/30) that he would end up on the ground. I think indeed if someone is waxing the top guns by 2-5 seconds a lap then it is pushing the enveloppe. Nothing against Tomac, I was also excited, I would just like him to back it down a notch to see his talents all season long.

Ich glaube ich spinne! (I lived in Hannover for two years, so....#Hochdeutsch #SalzgitterMX)

The funniest part was Heiko saying "There are people on the team, that obviously have no function, but they're getting payed". It reminded me of when Matthes asked Watson to name 5 things he was responsible for and Kenny couldn't do it.

Watson is a holdover from the 90s when acting like a fool in the pits was the core thing to do with a small team and thumb their noses at the factory teams, now he is just a clown but the circus has left town. I think they feel sorry for him that is why he is still around.

You obviously haven't met/spent time with Kenny W. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back, and is actually quite respected in the MX world.

fast?
fast is not sitting on the treatment table after trying to knock a couple of years off your career.
For sure Eli has great talent and can be rapid on a bike..... but can he do it for a complete season without wrecking himself? He was always going too fast... we've seen it all before with Bubba & Trey

So let me get this straight.

Kennedy wins the outdoor title last year on a bike he's not comfortable with, all the while training with Aldon and estranged from his father.
Starts the SX season off with RCH and wins then reconciles with his dad and under his advise leaves Aldons program and since then his results have not been what they should be.

Yep sounds like RCH totally screwed them.
Kennedy did not win the outdoor title, he was killed by a second gunman atop the grassy knoll.

Another conspiracy theory that makes as much sense as 90% of the crap posted in this thread.

But KR and RD weren't at their best at that time in the season, would ET be that much better this late in the season?? Who knows. Wasn't ET healthy during SX and he didn't have anything for RD. Who's to say RD wouldn't have been putting it to ET by the end once he got the new bike to his liking?? ET looked unbeatable but it was a small sample size.

Good for Heiko to let the truth out. Hope he wont get sued for slander. I'm far from in the loop (heck I live on the other side of the planet from SoCal). But honestly, anyone should've figured that out by now. Kenny got screwed over and him and his fans gets the raw deal out of it. Wont be long before Ricky gets his ball and goes home (wherever that will be).
How did he get screwed? He wanted to leave KTM.

Why else would KROC leave a REAL works team to go run on Suzuki's 'B' team? Bad move any way you look at it.

Wasn't Mike Alessi 6seconds a lap faster after Tony took his factory Suzuki suspension to an outside suspension guru?

I think I have heard a mini dad or two rant like this before. If things aren't permanently screwed between the team and Roczen, I hope they agree to part ways so both parties can start fresh. If not, maybe papa K will have to eat his Christmas turkey alone this year. This is just a sad deal for all

The is what i know

1. for the record incase you might think something got lost in translation, the translation here is pretty spot on. Im American but been living n Germany for the last 14 years. And I've read the article in Deutsch and yea his translation is pretty spot on.

2. RC4 was a great racer in his day, and thats then end of the list of things that he's good at. if he want to own a team, write the check and shut the fuck up, Hire a team Manager and let him manage but RC's ego will never let that happen, because he's the GOAT docent make him the best at everything

3. Cary Hart, his heart is in the right place but I think RC is a bad influence on him, dude is brilliant at getting sponsorship. That needs to be his sole purpose in this team

4. there comes a point when your racing you have to let go of family, its sad cause you wouldn't be where you are without Mom and Dad driving you all over the country on there weekends. going to work exhausted monday morning after driving 12 hours in crap weather to get home in time for work & school mondays My dad did its many times id feel bad watching him slam coffee and leave directly after getting home to goto work. My dad loved helping but he want good at a lot of things so i did it, though my late 80 cc and 125 career i did all my own bike work. he hooked me up with a support ride. but finally it got the point i was like dad you can come but just hang out and enjoy yourself he let me do that he let go. and i was thankful because if i through one more chain after a hole shot i prolly would have killed him.. RV2 had the same problem and had to tell his family basically go home im at work. Kroc's dad is the same and he's german my girlfriends father was the same way.no matter what he knew best, its Deutsch thing i think.

so you have a team that obviously has no clear direction, a great rider they won't listen to or are handcuffed on what they can do because of who knows why. Kenny would have been only slightly better maybe at KTM cause Dungey is was and always will be the apple of De Costers eye. the only advantage kenny had over Ryan was Aldon Baker. . Dungy knew that was the key and Aldon put the fight in dungy he never had and was missing. theres one more race, maybe RCH just shows up its arms and lets Kenny have what he wants, i mean they have nothing to lose and 2nd place in the championship to gain.

The Future... i don't know, somethings gotta give, RCH know what they have but they need to pull there head out of there collective asses and take some help from outside, eat some humble pie and let the professionals do there job. If they don't and stand on the slippery slope there on now all there gonna have is a bike with a lot of different stickers on it and a frustrated rider.

as young as Kenny is , he's been nothing but a class act this season, on and off the track despite it all and still can get second place in the Championship . im sure Yoshimura Suzuki has there check book in hand just waiting for the opportunity . as well as al the other factory teams. scary but true Kenny is just gonna get bettering he will win multiple championships on the right team. do you hear me RCH? give him what he wants, look at McGrath he won how many championships for Honda with that 93 frame? If kenny can go faster on a 72 Hodka, zip tie that god awful what ever yellow your running on it and smile for the cameras on the podium when he collects the number one plate and stfu!!!!

I just want to know if Kenny is having fun yet? He made no bones about not having any fun will training under Aldon, and that he feared being burnt out early etc. But he really doesn't look like he is having fun right now, and his program seems to be anything but structured. Dungey just tunes everything else out, listens to Aldon, DeCoster, and anyone else in his camp that he trusts, and does his work. Keep it simple, man. Don't stray from the work that got you there. I really believe Dungey will be around for awhile. He will be impervious to burn out until he is truly ready to retire. So someone has to go out and beat him and out podium the guy more consistently. Good luck with that for the next few years. He is a podium machine. That should be his new nickname-podium. The podium. Ryan "the podium machine" Dungey.
I would like to add that I did want in on this thread. Too juicy to pass up!
