Yeah I don't like the disabled joke...not funny

As for the original post....I sort of get what hes getting at. The fans are very fickle, they will only concede that their fav rider or bike is the best, so they will be quick to rubbish any claims to the contrary. As for riders we all know that some riders are very sensitive to the bike that isn't setup correctly and that affects their mental state, Chad Reed is a classic example of this, if he has one thing he isn't happy about with the bike it affects his results....some will argue Reed uses this for an excuse for his results, others will say the bike is crap and Reed has a point...yet someone like RV or JS or whoever else might hop on the same bike with same setup and dominate.

I think we all need to agree that its this diversity of riders and bikes that make the sport interesting and sometimes frustrating. And its why this forum exists.

Last thing...go Kawasaki!!!!!! lol

"Also give those canadian MX announcers green cards and hand them the mics. GL, Emig, Ralph, and Cheape can hit the road. Or keep cheape for a fun facts segment or something since the guy is a mx dictionary. "

Great post, but who the hell is "Cheape?"
Jason Weygant...aka weege. He knows the ins and outs of every rider which is good to hear, not just the same repetitive stuff over and over again like the other guys regurgitate. If you listen to the Pulp show you will hear he is a cheap guy. So I referred to him as cheape

I don't know who the bigger headcases are in moto...the riders or the fans. Seems like on all recent threads it's Dungey loves that new bike and is really gelling with it. However at the start of the outdoors when Tomac swept the floor the bike was supposedly a pile of crap outdoors but indoors was amazing. Then all of us fans figured the new KTM really wasn't that great. But since Tomac's unfortunate crash now the bike is a miraculously a million times better?

Did they really make that much in changes to the bike for Ryan to start clicking off wins? Not in my mind, its just that they are now the fastest on the track. If RV and Tomac were still in it, Dunge would be in 3rd place wondering wtf is going on and blaming the bike. Last 3 years Desnations are the case in point. The tracks over there AREN'T THAT MUCH DIFFERENT to where all of the sudden what you have here is completely worthless. We have sand and have huge ruts too. Just like how Barcia starts the year off on the Yamaha like crap with all of us fans thinking that bike sucks, then all of the sudden a miracle setting fairy arrived with magic suspension settings and now the dude is just hauling...give me a break, the dudes balls finally dropped all the way and he got confident to pin it all day long.

Why would anyone else invest in this sport from a marketing perspective when Ricky Bobby's quote "if you aint first, you last" is true? Kawi is quickly falling to the slowest selling bikes in the US, all because Villopoto retired. KTM went from garbage selling bikes, to biggest name in the business with the help of Dungey coming over and RV leaving the US and series. Granted there was a big turnaround starting before that but in the past 3 years its been a whole nother story.

I don't know where I'm going with this as I am probably/clearly nuts as well, but does anyone else agree? This sport is the biggest mind fkkkk on the planet. Fact is basically proven, the bikes and brands aren't what wins races, its the rider.

I was there in the 70s,sport was huge.

Because bikes were cheap and you could ride them for years and still be competitive.

Then technology took a leap with long travel and watercooling and a new bike was needed yearly.

The sport went away.

I believe tv coverage brought it back as sx got on espn back then.

In the late 80s it was big again ,then cwlasses started getting added A,B,C,D, Bunch of mini ,and the focus became youth.

By 2000 you couldn't park at muddy creek,I've seen 1200 riders there ever race.

Tracks got crazy, and 4 strokes plus all the cost have killed it again.

I dont see a thing that can be done, nobody buys a bike and hops into the sport at 20 yr old unless they rode as a kid till the parents lost the house and had to quit.

The only way it gets bigger is kids getting into it and being able to ride it till my age. With tracks like today the only winner is the bone doctor.

I think there are a couple more factors also HB. Lack of places to ride (meaning land where you can just go screw around and ride locally) and massive amounts of competiton for ones entertainment dollar combined with a lot fewer young people having the disposable income to afford to do the sport.
I learned my skills riding in the mountains here, back then we would truck the bikes 5 miles to the base of the mountains and ride all day on fireroads and trails.

There was a large abandoned stripmine to. This plus riding on the farm got my fundamentals down.

You can't even hike on the trails we used to ride because they grew over from lack of use.

The feds just shut it down.

I would find it very hard to learn on just tracks today and fundamentals are lacking in lots of racers.

Disabled people are no laughing matter. That said, no one is laughing at that young man's disability.

They were laughing at a photo taken from a funny angle that could easily be misinterpreted to have sexual innuendo. At least that's how I take it. No one is laughing at the kid's disability and if it was just a photo of the kid alone, there would have been nothing at all to laugh at.

A severely disabled child with a contorted look on his face was being used for laughs so in essence you ARE laughing at that child, you just don't want to admit it.

Some of you should just man up and apologize.

Get over it. Laugh away....that's all we can do in life. Some people should man up and grow some thick skin. No one is entitled to anything including people being nice.

Well I assure you, if anyone ever posted a picture of my little nephew that has downs syndrome in an effort to be funny, what I would do to them when I tracked them down would certainly not be PC

Bullshit Ing. This has nothing to do with being PC and everything to with some of us were raised to know not everything is funny.

For the record the PC hysteria makes me gag. Taking off the Dukes of Hazzard because of the Confederate flag controversy is beyond stupid IMHO.

There is a happy medium between excess political correctness, and laughing at the facial expression on the face of a severely handicapped kid. Does this really have to be explained?

anyway, yea. i got some fucked up humor but really?

yea, your ramblngs may be true, but what it has to do with the growth of the sport is not. Good racing has been hit or miss for years, not just a couple guys moving around.

So what you're saying is that a "handjob" at the gate will grow the sport?

Where was your thick skin when Dungey didn't give your son an autograph?

Read my post again....it was there. 90% of it was about the great time we had. Read it now and post back what I said at the end to my son about why we didn't get the autograph. I bet most of you didn't even read my entire post.

I read your post and you still came off like a crybaby. In fact, it's my understanding you went to social media to cry about it as well. Doesn't sound like you have thick skin at all. But then again, it doesn't matter because if it was your disabled loved one who was being laughed at on the internet, you'd change your tune. Laughing at a picture like that is what weak people do. It doesn't take courage or strength to laugh at that, it only takes a weak mind incapable of sympathy for others.

Right.....you didn't read it. And I didn't post the picture of the kid nor would I. I also wouldn't appreciate the picture if it were my kid. But I'd still laugh and not be offended because I can't control what other people do and realize it's human nature. It's inappropriate but it's still funny. You don't know me at all but yet you judge me. That's what weak people do.

Well you are a better man than me because if that was my boy I would attempt to remove the person's head who photoshopped that. But on the other hand I know of a really beautiful karma story involving someone that loved to photoshop so maybe I would just realize you have to be a complete richard head to find ANY humor in that poor boy's picture and not do a thing.

Sometimes not doing anything is the best thing.

Dude couldn't pull the pace those days and blames settings.
