True, apparently.

Yes. They let him slide with a warning as I understand it.

This rule has been around for awhile.

Maybe because spokes, chains and sprockets don't mix well with hair.
I am always nervous when I see women amateur racers with a nice big long ponytail flowing out of their helmet.

JMB and pretty much every other mulleteer from the 90s just took their shirts off.

Maybe the FIM can get Barcia to shave.

Pretty sure spokes and sorockets will rip hair out nicely. Then maybe Theyll cut it.

Hair regulation. What's next ? Thats stupid.

The rule makes sense. I was watching a local mini race (girls class) and a couple of them got together at the finish line and one of them had her hair get tangled in the spinning wheel of the other bike....it was not pretty...took a chunk of her scalp out...nasty.

Looks more professional...but I'm an old fart too. Ought to be by choice, and not forced by the rulebook though, IMO.

Perhaps they should cut their fingers off to since they can get caught in the sprocket as well.

Dean Wilson and I were talking about this today, apparently he saw a girl basically get scalped when her hair got caught in a wheel during a crash recently.

Rules are rules, they are not trying to take away your freedomz, just make it safer. And fair enough to.

I remember seeing this guy with quite the flowing mane out the back of his helmet. I had one myself back then. Still have as much hair as back then, but of course a lot of it is now on my back instead of my head.

Minor league baseball has implemented rules against chewing tobacco on the field. Major League Baseball has not. Another reason why the AMA Nationals is the PREMIRE series.

The macho crap is stupid. Get your hair out of the way and eliminate an unnecessary risk. You need your fingers to ride the bike. A ponytail- not so much.

But they probably left their chest protectors on....(maybe? don't grill me I was barely old enough to ride in 1990).
