Figured I would post this up for anyone interested. Don't know the seller or what the deal is with the price, if it's OBO, etc, but I've seen the bike in person and it is mint.

Maybe you can get them to throw in one of the two Elsinore's that sit right beside it Wink

That fork guard must have been in the sun for a while. I guess it takes a long time to get $10k.

Ten grand? Seriously? I wouldn't be shocked if someone paid it, but I don't think any regular weekend warrior rider is going to pony up that much for an 8-year-old Honda - even if it has never been ridden. I'd give him $6000 at most.

I guess these brand new four strokes aren't expensive after all.

That price is asinine.

You could have a way nicer bike by buying one that was ridden and have 8k left to spend on upgrades.

the depreciation would be crazy too, after one ride would be worth $2500

I've seen many restored 74 CR250's sell for well over ten grand. They are only brand new once so he might just get it. Damn shame I didn't have an extra 7 grand back in 2007 to pick up a new 125 and 250 . sure would like a nice pair of final year CR's.

Technically anything is worth what someone is willing to pay. That being said, I could see new MSRP in 2007 being the max that would be worth. I get it, the CR250 is the most iconic dirtbike ever made (any arguments there?), but this is a niche sport, we're not talking collector cars here.

I don't even think that price is within reason for a collector...For those who said they want to ride their bikes, you could easily find a used one and throw a ton of cash to restore/modify it and have a better bike for the same money as this nutcase is asking

The only problem with that theory is the fact that the Gen 3 Honda chassis doesn't have any of the handling issues of the new Hondas. If you are going after modern looks, by all means ride the new chassis. If you want a bike that is really close to perfect right out of the box, the Gen 3 CR250 is a much safer bet.

I haven't sampled as many bikes as you, but I can attest to the grateful handling of the gen3 chassis.
