Not really disagreeing with you, but you never know man. That's why they run the race. I don't see him ever being fit enough or hungry enough to battle it out with those guys for 30 +2 24 times, but you just never know. He is damn smooth and qualified fastest at 11 of 12 rounds last year on the 250. Most would say his style should suit a 450 better.

He's going to need at least one extra locker for all the Oakley Bomb awards he accumulated last year.

I think a win may be tough for him, but podiums i could see. KRoc,Dungey,Tomac,Canard, Baggett, Peick, Barcia, maybe little Stewart, maybe Metty, and Pourcel. Yeah that sounds good.

Roczen didn't win the 250 class but moved up to win the 450 title against many of the same riders plus all the 450 big hitters,I agree about his style suiting a 450,maybe the two are similar

I know he was adjusting to US racing and still very young at first but still,CP will possibly always have better seasons on Kawasaki, also he's most likely to only give it a shot if he's happy with things after how the YZ450 season went so hopefully he'll be out there

WOW! Awesome news! Just got home from work and saw this , read the write up , very , very cool indeed! Having CP back out there ( on a 450 too! )....just made the nationals that much more entertaining to watch this summer! Hope everything works out well between him and the team. I also hope he feels comfortable on those bikes.

Interesting , i bet he will be quick for at least 4 laps
and you know this how.....
Well he always ran out of steam on the 250, that will just be magnified on the bigger bike

People just assume last season was a fitness problem.

Well what was it then? There was more then half a dozen times he was leading at the half way mark and then got swallowed up in the second half

This seems to mean Davalos won't be on a Rockstar Husky 450 this summer. What's the news on him?

He's been very sick with some type of virus. He'll be on a 250 for the outdoors. Bobby Hewitt mentioned that Osborne and Davalos are both signed for 16 and will both be on 250s.

I wonder if this might open a door for him to work on his fitness with Aldon since he will be teammates with Anderson and also connected to Decoster and Dungey. I believe if anyone can help Pourcel with his training difficulties do his old injuries its Def Aldon.
Good point.

Not comfortable with the bike when the track got rough.
When he isn't comfortable, he doesn't push. Still won an overall.

This has got to be Christophe's best chance at getting back to the top. I hope he takes it. I also hope he's been riding something lately and getting ready because, even with his smooth style, if he is just now starting the bike won't matter much.

Really look forward to seeing him out there though and wish him and the Rockstar Husky team the best.

he's beaten cairoli/ desalle/nagl/paulin straight up on a 450 a few times in gps- ask rv how tough that is to do....

pourcel will be up there battling for race wins if he is comfortable on the bike. His style suits the 450 better, the 450 husky is a great bike, he will be a contender, no doubt about it

I wonder what kind of shape he is in?

Exciting to think of the prospect of him and Aldon potentially working together, with DeCoster also in his corner.

Always one of my favourite riders to follow over a season... you just never know what he has up his sleeve.
Be awesome to see him battling Dunge again too.

Don't know about this. If there's a stubborn man, you're talking about CP. "My way, or no way". Tons of respect for this guy, from being almost paralyzed to winning races again. Hope he can get things straight and show us some magic!
4/22/2015 1:24am
Yeah!

I'll call CP for a ton of holeshots on that Husky!!!
Even if it isn't full factory Prototyp like Nagl s Husky.

Maybe Roger was there watching because it is highly unlikely Dean will be back for the summer time. Maybe he could fill the other spot on the KTM side?

Good reporting Vital! Super stoked after reading this! I hope he signs that contract real quick.

I thought he might end up on Tomac's Honda when he goes to Kawi - Husky is definitely a surprise!

Wonder if that's the new bike, or the old one...

I hope he likes the bike and does good. I'm super pumped for him.

This would be his first season on a 450 right?

Has he always wanted to ride a 450 or is this his first sign of interest? He would be very interesting to watch on a 450 although I think his back unfortunately will only be stressed even more than it was on a 250.

He's an incredible rider to have as a second rider on a factory team though.

Cairoli still dominated Pourcel that year for the most part Kong! He beat Pourcel 24 times out of 32 moto's.

Nonetheless, hopefully Pourcel can make the most of this deal and can mix it up at the front! Time is running out!

Er... he beat Cairoli only four times overall in 2012 and one of those times was when AC had a double DNF. Generally it was the other way round...but CP did win two GPs that year.

Cairoli finished 171 points ahead of CP.

Why do you hate Cairoli?

Pourcel was also coming off of a layoff and also was on a privateer team. Pretty impressive all things considered.
But Cairoli has historically had the upper hand on Pourcel brett12486.

Even in CP's title year in 2006, Cairoli beat him in 60% of the motos and also won three times as many.

Overall between 2005 and 2007 in MX2, Cairoli beat Pourcel 62 times of 88 motos, 70% of the time.

Im def not trying to argue that Pourcel is better than Cairoli by any means. Theyre not even on the same level when u compare race wins and championships. However I think its funny when people questions Pourcels talent. Look at how hard of a time Americas best motocrosser (villipoto) is having running with these guys. And pourcel has beaten them straight up before on much less equiptment and resources.

Earlier in the moto at Freestone he later pulled off in he passed Reed and Dungey and made it look easy. Reminded me somewhat of when Bayle stalked these guys through the whoops for a couple of laps at Atlanta I believe. The next lap JMB blew by all of them In a whoop section and made it look so easy.

450 class will be a tad bit more interesting if CP377 is at Hangtown for sure.

A whole season on the 450 would be a success for CP. He seems pretty undecided though, which isn't a good thing for Husky (or any other team that's interested in him).

True, last year it seemed like he was really motivated, burning laps at the test tracks and such. They were saying Mitch wanted to give him a ride, checked up on him a few weeks later and he still wasn't training. Doesn't sound hopefull we will see a fully fit Pourcel on the line. Maybe he is running out of money again
