Not sure what happened to the rest of my post but it somehow disappeared, anyhow great video. It's hard to believe how fast he is going with so little output from the bike.

Ahh yes. The mighty KX500 and it's seemingly endless power spread. It just keeps giving. Those who have ridden them know. Great video, this guy is a special rider, takes talent to ride one like that. Thanks for sharing!

Badness!! Man, that brings back some memories. He was on the brakes more than on the gas, lol. That track was a little scary, I can't imagine doing it on a 500. He did good keeping it under control, especially on the jumps. Nothin like a big two stroke. Love the low sound in the corners. Sucks about the shock, but he had a good race. Great vid GB

Happened to me half way through a 3 hour gncc race. Also on a KX 2-stroke. Broke both top and bottom bolts somehow (probably user error) and since the bottom bolt wedged itself into the linkage it was stuck halfway down the stroke. Tell you what, hardtail is not the way to go for a GNCC.

Oh and great vid Guy.

Just once, just one time, I want to ride glen helen on a 500. That's up there on my bucketlist with doing a lap around Lommel on a 150SX and riding Unadilla before the grass gets tilled.

Yeah, that would suck, shock bolt, think he finished 15th overall which really really sucks cause they paid 10 places back.

Everyone should have the pleasure of several laps on the track of their choice aboard a smoker big bore.

Not saying it would be everyone's favorite. It would no doubt leave an impression and appreciation of the raw power those bad boys had and the control and finesse the pros needed riding them at or near the bikes limits.

When he was on the line with the revs set, my balls were shaking. When he was heading into Talladega with a big holee, all I could muster was a faint "fuck..". So badass. I have to ride one before they're extinct forever.

Kx500 framed need a lot of extra gusseting and support added, could have contributed to the shock bolt letting go. Mine used to snap pipe mounts and footpeg brackets. Same with my Husky 125, I broke many headstays and snapped the shock shaft in half above the clevis.

That track looks like it would be a blast on a KX5. They don't swap or headshake, ever. Perfect for charging up and down those big hills, the hard part would be getting it slowed down for the corner at the end, and hanging onto that beast after the first few laps.

Makes me want to get one again. I'd love to ride one with modern suspension and beefed up brakes.

I had a top shock bolt come out on a KDX200 in a cross country races, was banging for a few minutes then the shock half came out and hit me in the leg,
