He'll get there, that second moto was very encouraging. His bike looked way better, his fitness though didn't look good compared to the others. Can we now conformed that he went into this thing half ass you think?

Yep not even close, within 4 secs of leader after a 35 minute moto. Yep he is way off the pace. He might as well just call a career and quit. Obviously he is too slow

It sounds like certain people just cant accept the truth and this constant snivelling about set up does a disservice to a great champion. Wake up and smell the coffee, the MXGP 's are the real deal, as are the Outdoor Nationals.

When has he even raced these guys? In 2011, the GP field was decimated and the guys who were there at MXDN were banged up.

That was awesome guys, thanks to all for the healthy banter, the season is young, Nagl and Desalle are on the top of their game right now, Mr consistent 222 is still very much in this and RV is a beast, that last lap charge showed it's in him, bring on the summer and see you track side at Matterley in May!!!!

That being said, if you have been watching Villopoto the last five years while completely ignoring his finishing position and competition, he looks completely different, and not in a good way. Something isn't right. I'm not sure what it is, but if something doesn't change real soon, this championship is history.
id say its not racing for such a long time and not training to the same degree he was. he physically doesn't look the same from the pics you see of him. the guy wanted to retire for heavens sakes. i bet if he went straight to the gps after his 13 season things might be a bit different but it isn't its 2015

His problem is simple, this is not an AMA track where he could just hit outside lines harder than everyone else which is what he is best at. He needs to change his lines and do more insides and square off more.

RV's line choices in Moto 2 worked better, IMO. Sweeping wide was working better than tight, cut and thrust of Moto 1.
Just a few ticks off the front runners. He will figure it out, but points are slipping away. The top Dudes are FAST, surprise surprise!

OMFG dude, get over it! I said it for years, RV is not nearly as great as everyone makes him out to be! Now that he's racing guys that are healthy and at the top of their game, he's being exposed! The only time he has really dominated a series was 2013 MX! Yep, I said it, flame on brother!

Why does everyone assume right away it was bike issues? Why is it so impossible to think he's just not in top shape or that the other guys are slightly better atm? In the first moto he was third after two corners. After the first rythm section he was back in sixth or seventh, without making a mistake. He just got passed like a rookie.

No need to panic, he'll win some more races this season. So will Cairoli and Desalle. Cairoli isn't in top shape yet either. It's a long season, cut them some slack will you.

I find it funny that people already calling this " he needs another year" give him time, third round jesus. he is the top 5 in points. He was very close to the top riders in the end of the second moto. He can only get better.

I would say that the one off rides of GP riders at nationals have been pretty successful. If they trained and tested in preparation for them with teams who knew how to set up bikes for the tracks, I'm sure they could get even better results.
