Did you not see where Tomac crashed? He wasn't lapped straight up.

Baggett was lapped too but had the fastest lap of the race, your logic is shit.

But there is a championship going on and guess what Tomac is in it.

So no rider should be able to pass back the leader, ever?

How many more points does he get in the championship for making that pass?

Dungey had a big lead and had backed it down at that point.

Outsider is a poto fan and probably thinks rv could somehow win the title if he entered the series next week.

I'll tell you this, if tomac had put some sort of block pass on he would have received the black flag. But staying close while passing lappers is smart.

That IS straight up. Did tomac start the race? If the answer is yes ( and the bike didn't break ) it's straight up.

Not dungeys fault Eli can't stay off the ground.

Hey sweetheart, am I wrong? Did Tomac not back off to not affect Dungey? And RV would be beating Dungey, most likely.

Maverick was asserting that Tomac is in the points chase for the championship and so should pass the leader back.

I'm curious to know why?
You don't get any extra points for doing that unless they have changed the scoring system..

Maybe he would maybe not, he's not racing so it's totally not relevant to the season.

As he should of. When the leader has established a big lead , it's his right to back it down a bit and not get messed with. I've got no problem with him staying close.

Dungey won and Eli frankly had ( another) bad race due to himself. Which is why he's 60+ points back.

Bullshit.. the blue flags are there to make sure lappers don't interfere with a battle for the lead.. if the leader can't out pace a lapper than that's his problem
I completely agree.

This thread is the reason I think the blue flags shouldn't exist at all. It just creates unnecessary confusion about who should "give way" on who, and when, and how much? See KlootZak's post for an example of it playing out in the extreme. Let them race it out. In most cases, the guy doing the lapping is significantly faster, so getting around shouldn't be a problem.

"Riders disregarding the blue flag may be black-flagged at the discretion of Race Director."

You're not the race director (thank god) so why don't you frig off?

Why is everyone so butt hurt over this? As far as I know Dungey, the AMA or FIM have no problems with it. Why should any one here.

it was totally legal but to me just didn't seem right, in the end it didn't matter, I could see it becoming a problem if more were at stake but Tomac is so far out of it.

I dont know how I feel about this. Blue flags are so lappers dont interfere with riders that they are in front of them and they arent actually racing, but at the same time a rider is allowed to get their lap back.

I think getting your lap back and raising the possibly of contact with the race leader/s is a douchy move regardless of whether it's legal or not and FWIW I'm not surprised to see Tomac be involved in something like this.

I was a big fan of Tomac during hsi 250 days and the beginning of his 450 career until that incident with Weimer and a few times on track he has shown his true colors. He's fast but seems like a complete self entitled spoiled kid.

I think.....if the guy who got lapped , is actually fast enough to re-pass the leader without causing any problems in the running order....I say " Good for him "......he obviously shouldn't of been a lap down if it hadn't been for a mistake.

In all sorts of racing , if a guy is fast enough to gain a lap back....you give it to him. It's a respect thing....because it gives that rider one more lap to try and make up some more positions.

You know I agree with this except one major point, a lapped rider trying to pass the leader in a Sport that timing is critical could cause a problem and the leader passing lapped riders is part of it but being distracted by someone basically out of the race is a little different.

Tomac was faster than a lot of other riders who were ahead of him. By pushing the pace and passing these riders he gains positions, therefore points. These points will affect his championship position, therefore money earned at the end of the year. But, according to the logic of some on here, he should coast behind Dungey and sacrifice his own race. So, Eli wasn't racing Dungey, he was racing the riders in front him who couldn't maintain his pace for 20 laps, Ryan just happened to be between him and those riders.

I see what you're saying Jay , and I agree with you too on that point. But from what I saw of how Eli was riding , I don';t think he was planning on screwing up RD's run at all......and I think Ryan kind of knew that as well. Two consummate professionals out their just riding the best they could. I think Eli held back until he saw RD slide over and give him the room to move past.....and I think RD knew Eli really wanted by. It worked out for both of them.

The purpose of the blue flag is not to fuck up a battle for the lead, or battle for position from faster riders lapping slower riders moron!!!!!! My god I want to stab my eyes out with your stupidity, because its sharper than the average bear. Bears. Bears. Hjacks. Dungeon. Fuck.

I agree with you 100% Jeffro, ET didnt try and take out RD, RD could see he wanted to go past and let him through no harm done, I just cant believe people are complaining about this....heaven forbid what what happen to this forum if ET did take out RD....jeepers!!!

Was a blue flag shown at ET? Firstly why would they do that when ET was catching RD not RD catching ET. Secondly if there was a blue flag it was probably shown at RD as ET wanted to pass therefore it can be argued he was the faster rider (i.e 1. Indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders)

Congratulations!!! You have reached the level of stupid where discussing differing viewpoints is obviously pointless. As you often do.
