Btw I completely understand the logic of wanting one of these FE's, they are clearly a step above anything else the main competition is putting out. Same reason I like buying TM's, all of their bikes are like factory editions. Just without the follow-up mass production version or aftermarket support.

Ktm has been doing a great of making the big 4 look completely incompetent.
I'm pretty lucky. I said I wanted it. And my wife said if I want it, I should get it. It was actually her idea for me to keep my 250 instead of selling it despite getting the new bike. And she hasn't flinched at some of the things I've already bought for the FE! I'm a lucky guy!

f I were in the market right now, KTM is the first bike(s) I'd want to ride. Those FE's are good looking machines. Looking forward to hearing riding impressions with the revised frame. To those who have them, enjoy!

If It comes down to fun it's definitely not about money. My Crf100 with a 120 kit is by far the funnest bike I've ever ridden. I ride it all week, never change the filter, never change the oil, just put gas in it! My point wasn't to make fun of people for spending money, my point was that people are complaining about stuff they couldn't even get in the first place! Kudos to everyone who got one, they are so sick! And I just like to bust on ktmshane just because why not!!

They truly are beautiful bikes and if the upgrades are as good as advertised, I don't blame anyone that spends the money. For me, I've decided not to spend the extra money and go with a 2015 YZ250F. These are great bikes IMO and quite a bit less expensive. With that said, if the KTM was exactly what I wanted and was more in line with my budget, that is what I'd have also.

Well it frgn raining here - so today will be pre-ride maintenance day. Check and lube all the linkage........as a senior rider I MX and offroad. So I'm fitting up a sparky to the bike now so it is done. The Akro...is off my 500 XC fits very nice and the larger can is the stock can for the 500 XC. The mounts are the same, however the lengths are not. I'm going to mod the stock 500 can as it has been on the shelf since 2012. I need trim about 1 1/4" of the front of the stock can to make it fit the FE.

The charger is the one my dealer recommended - I let it charge all night and now it is 100%.

I will get all this sorted today - watch SX tonight and head to Bend in the AM to break the bike inWoohoo

Yea a buddy told me what he paid for his mtb. Motocross bikes are a bargin by comparison. Anyone priced a pickup lately?

Amen to that! But if you've ever ridden a $12,000 bicycle, they're pretty amazing to ride. They tend to hold a fairly decent resale value as well. I've considered selling mine since I'm not actively racing triathlons currently, but can't bring myself to do it since I still ride the bike. It's just a lot of money to have tied up!

Have to say ktm are certainly moving in the right direction, loving the clutch cover and header!!!.
When I next get a new bike after being a honda guy most of my time I will most certainly consider the options ktm are offering right now. Truly beautiful bikes guys

The new bike looks incredible. By far the best looking bike out there. I could complain about the stock exhaust, but the rest looks so good it doesn't matter and most will switch to aftermarket anyway.

I agree. I just purchased a 2015 YZ 250F and that bike is perfect and ready to race out of the box. My new 350 isn't close to being race ready just because of the suspension. Yamaha has everyone smashed in the suspension department for sure.
If I had the money I would have a new KTM 450 but I'm waiting for the '16 350 since it should have the upgrades.
I have 4 or 5 bikes now so I'll have to wait a bit......lol.

I just went to fire up my new 250 FE and the battery is low. Do I need to purchase a special charger or will a normal car battery charger at 2amp work?

I'm in the same boat. I was told worst case second week in May but definitely hoping it shows up sooner than that. Atleast all the aftermarkets should be firing on all cylinders with products for the FE by then.

The genius chargers are normal low amp battery chargers that have a built in shut off. Your 2amp charger will work fine just make sure to pull it off once it's charged if it does not shut off on its own.

From what I've been told by friends that are riding them, the stock pegs aren't very well liked ! The Raptor pegs are the same pegs that EVERY Pro KTM team is using, along with MOST every other team.

If anyone finds part #'s for replacement plastics, please post them or message me PLEASE. I need a set ASAP. I hear that Polisport may have them out very soon, but I haven't gotten confirmation from them yet. The early bikes (Magazine/ test bikes) came with decals on them... NO Embedded graphics on any of the plastics. The fact that KTM did the side plates and front # plate with the #5 EMBEDED in the plastic is straight DUMB !! JMO

I moved a new 450FE around a bit and the thing felt lighter than my '13 2 stroke. Impressive!

those bikes are sweet wish I could get one but if I did probably be the 250 when my kid moves up to big bikes. I would think the 10lbs would be worth it more than anything. after I rode Hondas for a longtime the other bikes always feel heavy. im curious if the new ktm will have that light feel to it also.
