RV will be fine.. It's fricken qualifying.. some of you are blowing your wad a little premature. He's not far off pace (Best lap) and is matching the leaders laptimes.

RV 2 seconds off AC's best.. He will pick it up when it counts, long time off.

he did pretty solid laps in the end indeed.
I think he'll be good for the fight tomorrow. Should be some good racing!

No offence but its silly to judge RV off one qualifying race. He hasn't raced in 10months. His lap times were on par with the top 3 towards the end of moto.

Laptimes don't really mean much. Look at the top 15 how close their times are.

His best lap was 3 seconds slower than Desalle's. That's actually a pretty big margin.

Don't get me wrong, Villopoto is obviously far better than this result would suggest - no-one's going to convince me he isn't as fast as Simpson and Febvre, for example - but at the moment, and for whatever reason, he looks well off the pace.

Looks like a lot of this is going to be sold this weekend to butt hurt RV fans.

Maybe he's just riding smart, he knows how hard it is to come back and win a championship if you throw it away in the first round.

Sure he hasn't raced for 10 months. That's what the pre-season races are for though. You can't really use the fact that you haven't raced for so long as an excuse when you've turned down the opportunity to race

He is racing on tracks he never raced on in a series he never raced, against VERY FAST riders whom have raced on them before. How many have come from Europe to race AMA and won their first year out in the big class?

To think he will come out and win it all is a stretch. Top 5, he should get, but to win it all, unlikely. Only time will tell if I eat crow.
