i went back over this discussion and look for americans who became world champions. pretty fast i guess. brad lackey and donnie schmidt were there, but i didn't see danny laporte or trampas parker listed. hmmmmmm.

Hartwig??? This has to be in ref to Ryan hartwig. What about Chris considine????he was faster than sellers and Carmichael on 60s in 1990 at lorettas. What about Justin smith, Ahmad Owens and tommy Barron! This list seems skewed...that or I have much love for the super fast local boys in the mid 1990's....

These are the only people that I can think of off the top of my head that have made the night show/sunday program are brian mason, derek leist, (not sure if jason hussey qualified for red bud this year, but he looked fast enough in practice), ryan poulter does AX. I'm sure there's a few more, can't remember right now. Best finisher I think would be brian mason, made a couple SX mains in 05 or 06 before gettting hurt, and I think got a top 20 at dilla a few years back. This will hopefully soon be bested by Kyle Corman.
Poulter was so fast it just seemed like he couldn't put it together at the big races. He did race supercross a couple years too. He is a super cool dude and his SX track at his house is awesome. It was always a super fun time when I'd go out and stay at his house.

Pretty sure Dennis is from Texas. Unless he was born in Oklahoma then moved to Texas. Raced him a bunch in the 80's in north Texas and when he traveled south to Houston.

No,this is reference to michigans first big name mx pro Mike Hartwig from the mid 70's who won a couple nationals as team yamaha/husqvarna rider. also this list is for fast pro's from each state not just A class riders. Considine,Smith, Owens etc. never were pro's.
