I thought it was kinda douchey for him to say that Anderson was benefiting from riding with roczen, and basically roczen wasnt getting anything out of it. i know in his day he never would have agreed to training with 3-4 other riders, but to say that shit during the race was lame imho.
Yep, yet he never once said Roczen also had the same benefit last year doing the same training alongside Villopoto, I am sure that was exactly the same scenario, once rider gaining a lot more experience and benefit out of the deal.

I say remove all of them. They interfere with the sounds of the engines.

There are two considerations: (a) is it an actual conflict of interest, or (b) does it lend the appearance of a conflict of interest.
An actual conflict of interest is one thing; the appearance of a conflict is a bit different. It's all where one draws the line.
'When your values are clear, any decision is easy.' - Roy Disney.

OP raises the question as to RC being in the booth while being a team-owner. That's a fair question. If Emig still owned his team and was in the booth, the same question would be fair to raise.

But.....there is no 'birthright' to the booth, regardless of achievement. If Monster wasn't the sponsor of the series---would the claw on the lapel be allowed? Can Emig wear a grip pin on his lapel? Conflicts, conflicts.... Follow the $$$. Evil

Well I actually like RC in the booth and I love the banter between him and Emig, but I will have to agree, now that he has a top tier rider who will be winning some races it is time for him to step down.

Think Langston needs to get the call.

Never have had an issue with RC. Knows his stuff so those who whine about him, probably couldn't do any better.

But I will say that watching and listening to Jim Holley when he does the SX practice and interviews, he has to be the worst EVER!. Can't stand that dude.

I'm usually judgemental as hell, but I think RC is doing alright so far. A million times better than last year. Not to be mean but I think he's just not a quick thinker in a social situation, and that's his main problem in the booth. It'll get better with time I'd imagine. I'd kill to have Art Ekman and David Bailey in the booth though.

Poor Jim Holley is just awkward as hell lol. I get embarrassed just watching him. He has a "Golly gee! Boy Howdy, that's neat!" Type of demeanor. If other people are around when I'm watching him,,I turn it off because I get embarrassed lol.

I like RC in the booth. I think Emig does a real good job also. Good pairing and good rapport. I'm good and I just want to see 5 guys dicing for the win each weekend!

He is super biased.

That would be my only complaint.

RC is a danger to the other personal in the broadcast booth and area... That is why he needs the boot.

I don't care how he sounds in the booth. It’s his appearance that embarrasses me. He is supposed to be the best our sport has ever produced - The GOAT and he has completely let himself go.

He’s got the double chin, the pot belly gut. He’s only been retired for how many years? Don’t tell me he’s earned it either…..earned what the right to mis-represent our sport? I say this with all due respect and concern, he is well on his way to hypertension diabetes and a host of other ailments if he doesn’t do something quick.

What about his kids and riders, what kind of example does he set for them? You know he knows how, is it laziness, lack of will power; is it not caring enough to prioritizes his time? Only RC knows. I guess I wouldn’t care so much that he doesn’t care enough to stay in shape at 30 something if he wasn’t mis-representing our sport on national TV. – There I said it.

Anyone remember the funnel cake incident from last year?

This thread just reminded me of it. Funny as fuck. Carry on.

Both of you sound like complete idiots in these two posts. That has to be the two dumbest posts I've read on here in quite some time.

Man, that's way too harsh. He pounded himself into shape and trained like a fucking spartan and in the process became a legend by beating everyone else for a decade. He is entitled to live a normal life after that, I'd say. If that includes double scoops of ice cream and two chins then what of it?

I love jim holley as a personality and as a decent guy; I just think he's awkward in front of a camera. I am the same way and I'd look like a total buttplug if I was trying to host a show. I don't begrudge him of his awkwardness but it makes me cringe sometimes. Jim holley is good people regardless.

God damn you guys have to find something to bitch about.

I like Ricky in the booth. I personally believe he brings some interesting points to the table. He knows his shit about riding more than any of us do, and I think a lot of you are bandwagoning the "get ricky/ralph/emig out of the booth"

I like Ralph too, he has a specific purpose which doesn't pertain as much to us racing enthusiasts as much as it does to the general public. He plays a vital role.

Not too many people don't like Jeff, I like him, and he seems to make good points that a experienced pro could make like Ricky.

For the most part I don't care about the commentating, although I do think Emig does a great job, but having a team owner in the announcers booth seems hokey. Could you imagine Robert Kraft (Patriots owner) being a full time announcer at the Patriots games? Or the owner of a Formula One team as an announcer?

Oddly enough, I don't think RC really covers much technical insight when he speaks. Some people just aren't good at conveying their thoughts. I think Emig does this quite well.

I like having an active team manager in the booth. He's looking for different things than a former rider and whatever Ralph is watching.

I don't think there is much to complain about in the booth. I'm not a fan of Ralph, and I think there could be a better color commentator, but it's not like he fumbles over words, and he certainly doesn't let it get quiet in the booth, which is what his job is.

I agree with this. That being said I don't really even pay attention enough to care about what they say half the time. Some of you guys are way to fuckin picky. Every year we hear people bitching about the commentary. Its supercross and motocross. Its live on tv! Fuck it I'm happy with that. They could have joe dirt commentating for all I give a shit. I say If you are one of the ones bitching get in there and do a better job or just shut up. All this complaining is just that. Complaining. You aren't solving anything. Just being a little bitch!

RC is there because he's the GOAT.
