I don't really care. Stewart has been hit and miss with SX the past few seasons anyway, and RV will be doing GPs so I'm stoked for that. There is honestly a lot of new hungry guys that are gonna make for great racing this season I think.

In the absence of Villopoto and Stewart (still can't believe it) I'm excited for one reason and that's Jason Anderson on the Husqvarna. I believe he could start winning on a major level. If he does, no one can say it was due to #1 and #7 being gone, because he's just coming up. They'll have to come back to beat him next year, if he has the year I think he can.

I am having a hard time buying the Jason Anderson pre-season hype. Generally guys who take 4 years to figure out how to win at the 250 SX level are not the guys who win multiple races and championships in the 450 ranks.

If you look back it is the RC, Stewart, RV, Dungey, Reed, Roczen types who were winning right away in the pro ranks who get to the top level in the 450's. The guys who take time to figure things out and win in the 250's like Weimer, Wil Hahn, Tedesco, Langston, etc. get some podiums in SX here and there but never seem reach the elite level of the 450 class.

Even the Canard, Barcia, Millsaps type who win right away in the 250's and also have wins as soon as they get to the 450's are still struggling to put it all together in 450 SX.

Anderson may buck past trends but it could just as easily be that he never wins in the 450 class. I am going to have to see it before I believe it.

I know his first two seasons he was still of the attitude that his talent would overcome lack of training. Once he realized that wasn't working, he started getting the results and winning. He's training with Baker now and riding everyday with one of the best on the gate, Roczen, so it's hard for me to argue that he won't find success. In the end, I'm just glad we have someone else to throw into the top 10 mix.

I cant wait. At the first 4 or 5 races there very well could be different guys battling for the win at each race. I could see one guy reel off some wins, then another guy get two or three wins then ...

The only thing I'm going to miss is watching James jump stuff that no one else will.

I'm bummed a little to that RV and James aren't there.....but hell , there are a lot of super fast young dudes that are willing to throw it all out there.....and dare I say.....possibly past the point of RV and James.

These new young dudes don't fuck around and are going to do nothing but get faster. Hell yes I'm excited for A1 ! It's gonna be awesome no matter what!

Tomac will dominate. Bagget, Roczen, Canard, Reed, and Davi will be right there too. Then you got guys like Seeley, Anderson, Weimer, Hahn, Hill, Tickle... Lots of super fast guys that will for sure mix shit up. You KNOW Alessi is going to be mixing shit up too. He's a gamer.

DownSouth you may prove correct. My instincts have been pretty good over the past decade or so, but I've also been dead wrong, i.e. Tedesco and Barcia. I think kawairider819 made some great points (which I failed to) that supports the Anderson theory. He just has a style on the bike that's different imo -- he's races for the front, and while that kind of attitude is hard to single out when you think how talented all these pros are, Anderson has a sharp but edgy style that I'm at least hoping will surprise the industry, even as early as A1.

Canard will win the most and the title, Eli will be 2nd on the win list, but I feel he'll falter on several critical races. Dungey, Roczen, Reed and Milsaps will also have muliple wins but lack the intensity to finish out on top. I hope Anderson and Barcia survive the West Rounds rounds and we get to see them battle along with Justin Hill for the top step when the carnage moves east. Seeley, Wilson and Hahn will all podium. Wish I could say the same for Grant but what the hell do I know?

This is going to be nuts-Stamp it!

I'm more excited for Qatar this year than the build up to A1, usually at this stage of the year it's supercross all the way. But AC v RV should be epic as it's the best of the best facing off, plus there are four or five other guys that can win too, and the graduating rookies, so it has a bit of everything supercross has plus a bit more with the two champs going at it. In 2015 Qatar is the new A1 for me.

However I think once the gate drops at A1 it will be awesome and storylines will develop there too, right now it's so wide open it's hard to focus on just one rivalry or story line. Usually it's, who can beat the champ, now it's who will win and it's all a bit scatter gun. But because all the top guys think they can win it should be pretty explosive in the first few rounds, and that will make it just as exciting as usual, if not more so, once it gets going. I think the rookies will be in amongst it too.

I'm still excited for A1 but MXGP is proving even more exciting and at the end of December, with supercross this close, that surprises me! I think I might me more excited for supercross after A1 once I see who's doing what and the storylines emerge, which is a bit strange!

I know I know, I'm not a "real" fan, am I? With James and RV out, it seem the series has lost some major star power and with it alot of hype and excitement heading in to A1. Usually, I'm all giddy and acting like a kid waiting on Santa the week leading up to A1, but this year, whatever the reason, I'm just not all that amped up. Dang, I can't even give the RV fanboys crap, and you know what, they can't give me crap either!Laughing Gawd, what are we going to do? I guess, we'll have to have civil conversations now!Wink
I agree. When a 450 class loses probably the two fastest and most exciting guys on the track and the 250F class will be without "the next one" is loses a lot of it's luster.

With that said I think that the actual racing will be fine, but you need guys with that "Star Power" to get people interested.

I think that it will turn out better than many think and it will be interesting to see who steps up to the plate and takes over being the biggest "star" in moto.

A1 has had it's share of shocking winners before so anything could happen. Anderson certainly has the trainer and talent to do it.

I'm like most here...I'm super bummed that Stewart won't be out there, especially for the reason he's not. But, the field is stacked with fast youngsters to the point where anyone can win at any given time...and that's exciting!

I think it's cool that RV, JS7, CR22, RC have set the bar so high that we have 10 other kids with the same speed now. With or without JS7 I think we are in for a good season

I'm the opposite. I think stars like Ricky and James and Villo ruin the excitement. They were/are so dominate it takes the fun out of wondering who will win. Their skill is fun to watch obviously but I'd rather have close racing than susperstars checking out after 1 lap.

I just wanted James to be able to race this year, because I think he would have won quite often and chipped away at MC's 72 SX win record. I think it would have been possible for James to catch Jeremy's record in the next few years, but with him out this season, it makes it almost impossible! In fact, Reed may catch Stewart for 2nd place! He only needs 5 more wins, I think.

i didnt see it as that much of a problem
ime it easy to focus on the great battles further back

great thing about MX as a rider and spectator, it is fun and intense just beating a few mates for 23rd place.

(nice to win of course)

James is my favorite rider and Ryan is The F'n Man but I couldn't be more pumped. We've got a 1/2 dozen real title contenders and another dozen podium capable cats in the gate. Barring season-ending injuries we're in for 5 months of DOGFIGHT every weekend! Bring it!!!!

I think evolution is the wrong word here! MC evolutionized, then RC, then James, then RV, then ???? I'm sorry, but I don't see any of the current racers evolutionizing the sport. Maybe I'll be proved wrong!
