I have changed or repaired 9 tires this year since I started back riding and have not pinched a tube or used the Lords name in vain once.
Just thought you guys would like to know that.

I've pinched every tube on the shelf two seperate times and missed races the next day each time.

Down to 5 minutes on a front, about 15-20 on rears depending on my mood, the mood of the tire and amount of time before the next moto.

No pinched tubes.

Worth the money. You need three. Dont mess around with those other brands. They SUCK. they can break or crack when you are trying to get the bead over.

im pretty damn good myself....i use double thick tubes...but havent piched one in over a year when i used my (msr?) tire spoons...they are the ones with the red handles. best hand tire-tool made imo.

How much? The only struggle I still have is getting the first side of the tire on the rim. Seems like I never do it the same way twice.
Mini tires are tougher than big bikes.

We need to have a tire changing contest . I can do both of mine, new tires, new tubes, no pinch with my 30 year old motorace tire irons in less than 30 minutes on the bike . While drinking beer.

You can change tires while riding? Man I thought kick starting your bike in the air was cool but this is awesome news.Smile

We (my dad) changes about 4 a weekend, with bib mouses too, those are a pain. You can make one of those stands for pretty much free using some old car wheels. I'll try and post a picture in a week or two, cause its at my dad's house

I'd never pinched/popped/ or whatever a tube in my 20 years of racing before this season.

First ride of the season I pull into the pits. Flat. I snaked my spare, drove home and fucked 5 TUBES before I was able to get it to hold air. I've never thrown more tools or yelled at myself more. I had 3 screwdrivers sticking out of my garage celing when all was said and done.

I can actually feel my blood pressure rise right now as i type this, seriously.

The spoons were the ticket. That and lots of pinched tubes. Gurrr. Sunlight is your friend. Hot tires slip off and on easily.

go on transworld and look up the tire changin video its a 3 part series i watched it a few times and and with 3 motion pro spoons and a bead buddy i can get a tire off and on a rim on my 250f in under 5 mins.......i used to hate changin tires now its more like how fast can i do them now........by the way the bead buddy is a great tool makes doin the tires easy its like havin a 3rd hand

I'll never change a tire again. An iron kicked back on me while taking a tire off and blasted me in the face for a few stitches. The $20 bucks to get the shop to do the frikkin' thing is worth it.

I've kinda become known as the tire changin guy in our area over the last 7 or 8 years. I get guys now calling me to see if I'm coming to the track because they have a flat or want a new tire put on. I ussually do several each weekend at $10 each, helps pay entry fees. The most I've done in a day was 52 at a LL qualifier 2 years ago, my hands were raw.

On the tube pinching, I never let anyone mention pinched tubes while I'm changing tires or tubes, It's bad luck.

pinched my first tube a few weeks ago ona fuckin CRF50 tire, i do pretty good until I get to the last 1/4 of the tire putting it on... then it starts taking itself off every time I try to go farther. Gets me fucking pissed the hell off.

That guy was good. What I liked most about the whole deal was he never got in a hurry. He had people handing him all the right things at the right times.

I've never done one with the tireballs in. I think I could match him on a tube tire. I use an empty 15 gallon oil drum with the lid off, a bead buddy, one 14" straight tire iron and one 17" motion pro one like he used to get the tire off the rim. It's all in the technique.

I install with the tube in the tire, make sure you always push the opposite side your working down into the center of the rim. When I take one off I break down both beads to the outside then pull the rim out the middle.

I have a garage full of 50cc bikes with 10" wheels and let me tell you, THEY SUCK! I think I would rather light my hair on fire than change a 10" tire. I'm going to ask for a set of those Motion Pro spoons for Christmas.

Anybody who's never changed a 4.0 Barumn with nothing but large screwdrivers can't consider themselves Oldschool.


About 50% on pinching the tubes with that method.

i watched one of the mechanics at carlsbad when i was a kid and he used a bucket..i have always done it that way...30 minutes..thats smoking..i take about an hour..
