"The final SX1 full swing, the drivers are fully launched. Romain Berthomé deviates in whoops, fall and is at the worst point of the track. A motorcycle can not avoid it and violently struck his helmet. The young French driver loses consciousness and does not move. Doctors rush to rescue him. Silence is cold in the stadium. The public is shocked. On the ground, the situation is serious. Sheets now surround the medical staff who revives Roman. The pilot is fighting for its survival. Time seems to have stopped in the Palexpo in Geneva. Facilitators try as they can to save the heavy atmosphere that hit the stands.

hard hard
Cedric Soubeyras, the poet of all time, has tears in his eyes. "My father asked me if I wanted to take the 2nd start, he said. I agreed to Romain even that was not easy. "After long minutes that seem like an eternity, Romain is evacuated on a stretcher. The public wants to applaud but doctors are signs of doing nothing. He was immediately transported to the University of Geneva Cantonal Hospital where he remained in intensive care overnight. In the morning, the paddocks are still empty but the question is in the mouth of all the world: "how is Roman? "His brother Vincent and his family did not wish to speak for now but" things are going well. "Courage Roman. Silences like that, we do want more ..."

He didn't die but he had to be resuscitated. Spent the night in intensive care.

Crashed in the whoops and another bike hit his head. Sad

Motocross ia dangerous, supercross even more so , nobody wants to see riders injured , but the nature of the sport is to challenge riders...

AC could have just as easy hit a concrete floor in the US , having to huck an 80ft triple anywhere has its risks... maybe its time to 'old school' the tracks a bit , less big stuff, more small technical stuff to slow it all down .

Hope Romain can win his battle..

I'm here in Geneva and just spoke to one of the mechanics to get an AC update. Fortunately his injuries aren't too serious. Not sure if something similar has already been posted. Haven't got time to read through the whole thread!

If he dislocated the same shoulder, which it sounds like he did, his season might be over before it even began.

Oh boy, a dislocated shoulder is the last thing he needed. He's definitely racing East (if he races SX at all) this year assuming it was the same shoulder he had surgery on.

Just got this text from his agent...

Adam Cianciarulo luckily escaped serious injury from a crash Friday night at Geneva Supercross. As a precautionary measure he's being held at the hospital overnight for observation and will be released Saturday morning.

From what I'm hearing atleast a 3 month recovery time so he won't be ready for East Coast. They will know more today or when he gets to his dr's.

Thoughts and prayers out to Romain Berthomé for a full recovery. Very sad to read this.

Way too many conflicting reports on AC. I just hope it's nothing too serious and we get to enjoy watching him race SX this season.

Motoverte posted an update for Romain.
Still in intensive care, but it seems like he is pulling through. No spine damage, and vital signs are good.

Horrible and pretty scary to hear stuff like that. Hope he pulls through.

On AC, it is starting to remind of of Robbie Reynard, loads of talent, hyped to be the next big thing, but can't stay injury free. Hopefully this shoulder isn't too bad and he can ride East Coast but his pro career has been so stop start, it's starting to getting worrying if he will be able fufill his full potential. Hopefully he can have an injury free run after this so we really see what the kid can do.

If this is true, that could ruin his entire season. I hope it just came out and went in really fast and it won't require surgery.

How many have ever lived up to the hype that AC has or had? Like, 3? I hate to say it, but odds are not in his favor to live up to his full potential as has been shown many times in the past with others.

For whatever reason, I haven't followed AC's amatuer career at all. Does he have a history of crashing out or being fragile?
12/6/2014 2:03pm
Is it the same shoulder he already separated?

If so... that is not good. Hoping the best for AC.

No he doesn't. As soon as he got on big bikes, tho, he's had a problem with injuring his shoulder(s).

I know it's easy to second guess after the fact, but wonder if his parents wish they wouldn't have been in such a hurry for him to turn pro. Seems if he would've waited a year his body would've been better "sized" for a full size bike (him being a late bloomer).
