If any of you are like me then you've always wanted a pair of Airbrakes but that $160 price tag has always kept you from picking up one or two of them. But right now BTO has select Airbrake models on sale for $96 ($64 off) and if you use the Pulp code it gets dropped to $85. And you get free shipping, so it's basically half price. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone has been holding out on them hoping for a sale.

I hope the reason for this sale is because they aren't selling well at the price they're asking for them...I personally wouldn't dream or paying 100 dollars for any google......Best google made in my opinion is the good old scott 89 20 to 30 bucks.....with the amp blue lens ..........I'll wait for them to clearance them out at $25 then see what the hype is about....although I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.......

From what I understand these are on sale since they're last years models, and Oakley is pushing out the '15 line. I don't think they are having much trouble meeting their sales expectations with the Airbrakes, I've seen tons of people wearing them.

If you thought for a minute that they were made in the USA by Monster Girls , between race weekend, and they came with a tour of the factory for $160 , then that might be considered value for money, but from a manufacturing POV, they are would cost pennies more to produce than a regular goggle..

Bto isnt losing any money, i used to buy Oakleys all the time from the dealership i used to work for. We were dealer for oakleys and dealers only pay half of what they sell them for, so 160 they really only cost 80 bucks so bto is still making $4.

BTO probably gets them for less than your dealership if they are buying them in high volume.

$84 is still about $34 more than I'd be willing to spend on a pair of goggles.

For the price of 10 pairs of Oakley Airbrake's you could buy a nice used bike off of craigslist.

Air breaks are GARBAGE, particularly for their price point. I can sweat through the foam within 10 minutes. Dragon NFXs are easily the best goggles out there, head and shoulders above the air break.

imo, i have worn, 100%, scott, spy, fox oakleys and the oakley airbrake, and the airbrakes are the best i have ever worn, using a 6d, or shoei vfx w. and the other goggles are really good. Love the airbrake lense removal system.

If you like the air take for the perceived added vision not just for pose factor try the rip n roll colossal £40-£50 so that's roughly $75.

I like the regular Oakley O frame better than any goggle I've tried. I tried on a friends Air Brakes and liked them, but not $160 worth. At $84 I might be a player because of the much better lens (kind of like the old Jones goggle, yes I'm old) and being able to buy replacement parts for it.

Mate, you can't compare Rip N Rolls to Oakley Airbrakes.

I mean they're OK but the quality is far from Oakley standards.

I still think the Airbrake is overpriced however, but at $84 it's not far off. You do get the strong protective lens. Also the sold-seperately Oakley roll off system for the airbrakes sets the standard for clear vision IMO.

You should have given them a chance . Best goggle I've ever worn by a massive margin.

It's a game changer for comfort and visibility.

Does anyone know if the airbrakes goggle fits well in a shoei v moto helmet? Im running Scott 89 s now and the goggles seem to push down on the bridge of my nose, think they are a tad too big for my helmet.

Can't help you with a Shoei, but they fit in an Arai and Scott 89s don't for me.

Ok. Thanks, I saw them at the oakley store for 160.00, but for 85.00 I will probably order a pair.

Did not try the s actually, it was the full size frame. I didn't want to ride with them, then I'd be stuck. Couple things I didn't like about the way they are put together.
1. Due to the style, they have a bend in the lens you cannot flex which for me makes pressure points across the face.
2. There are visible gaps near the nose piece and along the bottom. Seems like a perfect place for dust and water to migrate into your goggle and mess up vision.
3. Fills the entire goggle area. There is no room to adjust the fit. Could have gotten s, but with decreased size comes decreased field of vision. Lotta reviews mentioned the s doesn't have that much more vision than a pair of goggle half the price.

If one of my friends had an s laying around or they were in a bike shop, I'd give them a test fit.

I just put my Airbrakes inside one of my old Vmotos and it seemed tight at the sides. Didn't check to much around the nose but if I get time I will take a pic tomorrow when I get home from riding.
