08 CRF is the shit. Put an Boyesen accelerator cover on it, heavier fork springs, and ride.

Was that the year they had issues with the kickstarter busting the cases, or something weird like that?

07 honda was GREAT larger exhaust valves then the 08. Suspension was harsh on the 08 forgoet what the 07 forks were like. 08-09 Yamaha great I still have my 08 with a FC suspension, DRD exhaust and LMMX intake love it so fast and smooth best suspension ever.

I absolutely lovey 09 rmz. Put a high compression piston in for a little more pop of the bottom. Haven had a single problem with it.

I Had an 07 crf450 and currently ride an 09 crf450. In my opinion, the 09 is a lot better bike. Stiffer fork springs or softer shock spring is all you need to balance it. Remap the fuel and timing for 50$ and you have a great bike that is way more modern feeling. The clutch hasn't been an issue for me, but I also understand not to fan the clutch on a 450.

meh, don't believe all the bullshit about the 09 crf, chances are at this point somebody has already fixed some of the bugs, if not are you fast enough to notice the flaws in it? We have a local pro who was riding one last year spanking guys on '13's routinely. The bike was still close to stock. The 09-12 models feel like bicycles compared to the tanks from 03-08. IMO the 05 had the absolute fastest motor out of the bunch.
I'm with you on the perception of certain bad bikes, I had a 97 CR250with FC suspension and a Devol linkage that you could slightly adjust by changing the hexagon insert. The. Like was good and not as all as bad as some claim. However after being off 4 strikes since Feb 2009 I got the chance to ride an 08 CRF450 that was literally brand new and right away i could feel the stinkbug effect as well as the flat on top engine and it did handle like garbage but if it was my bike and I kept riding it. I could easily adapt and change it to work better

08 Honda 450 or 09 yzf 450. I had an 07 Honda and it was bullet proof but got headshake bad, they added a steering stabilizer in 08. The 09 crf was a slow ass stink bug, my 10 wasn’t much better that bike was junk

I have an 08 crf450 the thing rides like a tank. I think it needs a full tear down and rebuild. The motor is a beast though.

it has a AMA tech sticker on the frame.

I have never loved a bike more than my 08 Honda CRF450. I had an 06 and it was a great bike...until I rode an 08. No bike has left me with as good of memories since and I have considered buying one again and building it just to have around. I was also at my fastest and in the best shape I have ever been during those years, so maybe that has something to do with it too lol

I picked up a super low hour 2008 CRF450R last year for $2,200.. I originally bought it to flip for a quick buck (said that before!) but after riding it, I fell in love with it and don't plan to ever sell it. Hands down the best bang for the buck value of anything I've ever spent money on for moto!

Wanted to try a different look for it - Found white acerbis plastics kit on closeout, then threw a Throttle Jockey seat cover and SKDA graphics on it.. Not too shabby for a 12yr old machine. All in @ just over $2,500 with the face lift

No apology necessary. I figured that’s what you meant. I was referring to the old thread you revived. Was just razzing you about it.

As far as the thread goes for me it was the 09 CRF450 once set up. After owning the 05, 06 & 08 models the newer efi gen bike was much better after getting the bike balanced, Yosh system & a remap. The 09-12’s felt light & nimble with excellent turning in comparison.

I had an 09 kx450f and now I have a 17 kx450f and I would take a 17 10 out of 10 times over another 09. maybe its because I'm a short dude but that 09 felt like a tank compared to my 17. I also have an 05 CRF450R and if you can keep the valves in check it is seriously one of the hardest hitting low ends I have ever ridden.

It's funny, I absolutely loved the "big bike" feel of the 09 era KXF. and kawasaki's in general. I have an 18 yamaha now that is OK, but feels pretty cramped to me

07 CRF450...I had one. The bike was great. Motor was one of the best ever for non-efi. Typical Honda F&F. I had zero complaints.

I haven't won a race - or even pulled any holeshots since I sold my 08 CRF and bought a 17 KTM SXF 450
So there IS that
