i would think they'll let him run the 2 over there, it's too recognizable for people to associate with him

(and that's coming from someone that absolutely hates the AMA career numbers bullshit)

It would be cool.
Why? I think three-digit numbers on championship-caliber riders is silly.

Didn't Mike Brown get to run #3 when he went over? Surely means running #2 is at least possible..

Maybe if you go back from a single digit number, but sticking to the same number through your entire career is more than okay for me.

And if Mike Alessi came out swinging and won a class next summer it would just be weird if he where to chose a single digit. The 800 represents something, just like Cairolis 222 does. It's a brand, not just a number.

Villopoto is the #2 (no pun intended) by now. He is free to chose it if someone else have not picked it up already. Tanel Leok have had every possible single digit number probably without winning a championship.

Think I heard something about someone else applied for it though, believe it was Tonkov.

RV has multiple FIM world championships including one this year, I would think he's free to pick a single digit if that is how they do it there.

From Matthes tweet:

RV's going to wear #2 over there next year. In case you were wondering.

If Ronnie don't lick, Ronnie don't deserve the 69. Laughing

I would imagine a little part of the deal of him going over there was he gets to run his number 2. It is his brand like someone stated earlier.

You're right boss man. Except for the time when DeCoster ran the 111 in the trans am series and made everyone else look silly.
