That would have to be put into context. If you are looking for long time high use tools there are much better on the market, but if you are a looking for some cheaper tools for light use they normally work fine, but here again it depends on the item.

They have some good hand wrenches, low cost tool box's, low cost welders and many other good items. They also have some
very weak items as well.

So what are you asking about exactly?

In general sockets , wrenches and some other things I was hoping more for everyone to tell me what they had success with.

I used their tools in my race box that I took to the track and kept my Snap-on tools safe at home. Nothing can ruin a day at the track more than to have a Snap-on wrench to be borrowed and never returned.

My theory is: If you plug it into an electrical outlet or air hose don't buy it at harbor Freight. If its a hand tool, it's OK.

Seems like a good theory I think so to from my experience also I wont buy the ratchets but the sockets are fine for a dirtbike application (Not many bolts on dirt bikes are very tight)

Their motto should be:

Harbor Freight Tools... ehh, they work.

Truth. My race box is all hf tools. Not a problem buying them at all. Would I buy a grinder, drill, welder, etc? Nope. I've had nothing but bad experiences with the tools that you plug in. But for the most part, the hand tools are perfectly fine. I think I broke a 7mm wrench using it to do spoke once... Other than that, no problems.

I've had good experiences with hammers, small hand tools like punches and measuring tools. Air stuff has been decent. I have a 4 1/2 angle grinder (electric) I can't kill, have a few electric shears that are still good. Drill indexes are decent too. I have hydraulic table lift for bikes that is great.

What I haven't had good luck with are consumables like sand paper, grinding wheels, etc.. If its abrasive, it just doesn't last to justify the cost from my experience. I would not buy a welder from HF. No experience, just wouldn't.

I've had good luck with the wrenches, sockets and some air tools. Impact wrenches and air-nailers are good, the air saw and cut-off tools kinda suck.

Avoid all the cordless power tools that use the cheap NiCad batteries, they are all junk. The batteries will barely hold enough charge to spin the motor for 30 seconds.

The MX bike stands have a bad linkage geometry and they are sloppy. If you don't put in the safety pin every time, the stand will randomly release and drop the bike on the ground.( I threw mine away)

The torque wrenches seem ok in function, but the measuring scales on the 1/4 drive are in different increments than all Japanese service manuals. I have to do math conversions every time I use it. My 1/2' drive is fine.

The big O-ring sets are good and the smallest size fits an FCR fuel screw.

i bought a welder and it made sparks thats about it lol.
in all fairness i had 0 welding experience but what i used it on is still holding.

bike stand i have from them is a bit sloppy but works fine.

bought a fold up utility trailor and that things has been a champ even though it came in 3 boxes and took the better part of a sat. build.

it really depends on what your looking for and how often you are going to use it.

Anything electrical is absolute garbage. Some of their pneumatics are good. But as far as hand tools. Like said above they work but they're not high quality. Like wrench said. They work great for the travel but I keep my good tools at home

I've bought a lot of stuff from HF, mostly tools that I need for 1 or 2 uses, and generally only hand tools and the occasional use pneumatic. I've had the misfortune of buying a couple of electrics - I bought a hammer drill for a single job once that lasted all of a couple hours.

I have a bearing race and seal driver kit, though, that I bought from them that I have used for years. My general impression is: if it has a lot of moving parts, don't waste your money.

I like their hand tools and carry around a selection of HF tools in each vehicle I own. My Snap-On and Craftsman tools can stay safe at home. I actually dig this ratchet a lot and break the lugnuts on my VW with it.

I have an impact wrench, grinder, 1/2" sockets, and torque wrench. All have held up to occasional use but I can't say I have 100% confidence in the torque wrench.

Got a torque wrench from there once. Used it to torque three bolts. Snapped the head off all three bolts and its been sitting in the drawer ever since. Of course that could be from user error also, but I just don't like them for anything past the basics or unless you only want to use the tool once.
