I use to stay more informed on am. mx, but not too much the last few years. I have heard of RJ Hampshire before, but the kid won all 6 motos and is on a Geico bike. Anyone think he will be a legitimate threat for the remaining nationals? I know some years the talent is deep like it was with Stroupe, Canard, Izzi, and Hahn and other years its not.

Sounds like all eyes will be on RJ at Monster Cup (he'll be racing that, yes?)
Pit Row
The other difference is doing it each weekend, for multiple weekends in a row. The three at the end of the season is a good intro.
Also what makes this cool, his sister had a baby while there at Loretta's so he became an Uncle!
I have know the family for years, his dad and I used to race at the same tracks back in the late 80's early 90's
This makes me really happy for all of them!
hats off to Hampshire on sweeping the motos, I really thought AP and Alldredge had the field covered but the training RJ has been putting in with Reed really paid off. it's a bummer that Smith hurt his ankle and AP had the bike issue but RJ was on a roll. again, IMO, this years LL group of A riders is about as deep as it's ever been. there will be a few of them that we'll be hearing about for a while to come.
From what I heard he's been training with both Chad Reed and Tim Ferry, probably more with RedDog. I think those guys know something about preparing for pro nationals.
Im looking for him to do well in the big leagues. I consider well to be a top ten in one of the next 3 races.
He also won last years MEC amateur race.
