Yep, they can't fathom that people just stick up for people, It is a complete foreign concept. I have come to embrace the label and laugh every time I see it. I have said it before I would do it for any rider or person that gets the same amount of stupidity thrown at them, providing they are a decent person and not on here to defend themselves.

It is also the dirty little secret of Pro MX that riders get IVs between motos on hot days. It has been going on for a long time. There are even stories of riders training down at RCs ranch administering each other IVs on practice days to aid recovery during and after practices.

Some riders and managers have even suggested that it be sanctioned and managed by MX Sports. NFL players get em at half time. What is the big deal? Do we want to see who the fastest MX racers are....or do we want to see who can recover from dehydration and blood sugar depletion the fastest? Keep in mind that a big factor in recovery is the short period of time allowed due to TV broadcast schedules. How "natural" is that?

That said...it is against the current written rules...and if you are going to 'cheat' (I personally think the no IV rule is STUPID for safety reasons) you damn well better do it right! JS7s camp should have coached their nurse on what they were doing, and how to handle herself in such situations. Just stupid to have her say what she said.

There is no way to prove James cheated, but it sure looks bad. In fact, there is no way to ever catch any rider doing this if they use their head. It is an unenforceable rule. This is another reason it should not exist.

He is also my favorite rider. I am a huge fan...but I will still call it like it is.

No signs point to it other than what people choose to see. The op added layers to the rumor that GuyB said he did not hear. Now you have conflicting reports, no real solid information, and nonetheless, people throwing out accusations saying that all signs point towards cheating.

I'll gladly answer your question so as to shed a plausible reason why James would have his own nurse there to administer an iv. It's because she does much more than simply administering an iv. She is probably there for all of his health care needs during the weekend. James has always been private, he's always had his own crew of trusted people, and this is no different. Why would James want to go the Asterisk Medical unit when he has his own private assistance? You've assumed that her only role is to provide James with an iv in between motos.

The same line of reasoning could be leveled against RV and doping accusations; "we can't prove he was cheating, but all signs point towards it."

Until you provide some hard evidence, your hand-waving of "we know he did it' is empty and baseless.

In my job there is my performance, and there are rules I must adhere to.

The rules part is very objective and non-negotiable - if I break one there will be some sort of repercussions, up to and including losing my job if it's serious enough.

The performance part is subjective, and might range from an informal performance discussion with my boss, to affecting my bonus or salary increase, all the way up to being fired if my performance is consistently below par for an extended period.

For a professional motorcycle racer it's no different. Performance issues might be not winning enough races, or placing well consistently, or maybe some behavioural issues that affect their image and therefore team/sponsors.

The rules they have to follow are all in the rule book.

And as in my job, the racer is accountable for all those people that work for them and/or help them with their performance and adherence to the rules.
