That's pretty sweet! If you watch the broadcast, not sure about in person, looks like they have a lot of areas to expand for more elevation. Sure would like to go here and red bud one year.

I'm not sure what getting to the other nationals or MXdNs are like, but I would think the accessibility to the track (two lane highway) would hold Millville back from getting the nod. Major back ups. Also an interesting note, on one of the days leading up to the national last week they had a foot race around the track, one guy made it around 8 times, Nuts!

I stood down at the bottom for a bit just to grasp it's size, and watching Eli and Kenny scrub up that thing was beautiful. Probably the best possible addition they could have made to the track.

I think it was maybe the best track change on the circuit in years. So many tracks have lost cool sections for the tv lap time thingo, Mt Martin was awesome to see!

If you could have seen me running down the hill holding my daughter off the ground by her arm. It was so steep you couldn't hardly stand.

Yeah I was watching people slip down that hill nearly every time. Almost need the steps going all the way down to the ridge.

Unadilla had added a section similar to that in 2004 in the back section near the amateur track. It was incredible and I still don't understand why that was omitted as it really enhanced the layout.

Speaking of steep hills at Millville...saw the scariest off track potential for injury I have ever seen.

The trash guys were trying to go up the hill that leads to the Redbull and Parts Unlimited hospitality tents right in front of the Holy Schmit jump with a 4-wheeler pulling a small (about 8 foot) trailer with trash bags. They failed to get up the first time and just dug a hole in the dirt in 2 wheel drive. They were so determined to get up the hill he put it in 4 wheel drive and got a run at it and still had the helpers push near the top. I was thinking how the hell is he going to get back down.
About 20 minutes later I found out. I was waiting in line at the porta potty when I heard a ruckus behind me. The 4-wheeler had jackknifed about a quarter of the way down. The trailer was UNHOOKED and resting against the back of the 4-wheeler on one side of the tongue...the only thing stopping it from blasting down the hill and taking out the porta potties and no telling how many people (there are tons of people set up there). VERY scary.

There was a few moments of "what the hell are we going to do now", when about 10 or so guys came over out of the crowd and guided it down the hill by hand. The lawsuits would no doubt have been in the multi millions. Not to mention potential loss of life.

I hope they learned a lesson, but we'll see next year.

I believe I remember them saying the riders didn't like it because it was too fast. It was a nice addition but it did make that whole back section into more of a freeway than it is now.

Anybody remember about ten/fifteen years ago when at Red Bud they came off the ski jump,went through the valley and continued straight up the hill over a jump into the old apple orchard section? They eliminated that because it was deemed "too fast" and it bummed me out because it was friggin awesome to see those guys up shift on landing and just haul ass up and over that big single.

Nice pic. Really shows the size hill. I wish the tv cameras would try to get angles like this. I love that we see it live in HD but the angles they show on tv don't show the elevation very well.

I think a lot of it is also that the camera guys constantly zoom in, which makes depth and size perception impossible. During Washougal HD motos there was a shot on top of HP Hill and I don't know if the camera guy knew he was on just yet because he wasn't zoomed in at all, and you could REALLY tell how high up he was and how far the track stretched. Then he zoomed in on Mushy, I think, coming up the hill and all was lost.

That part is still in use today . For a few years instead of making the left handler at the base of the hill, they went up the hill into the U2(amateur track)pits and jumped back down.
