Geez! The guy doesn't start one Moto and you think he is done for the season!!! Maybe he had explosive diarrhea , maybe he doesn't feel good, maybe he was dizzy. There hasn't been an official statement yet. Give it a rest!!

It is amazing that some people are so clueless that they do not understand that in a normal person, if you do a brain scan of them under the effects of Adderall...you see increased brain activity (hyperstimulation). In a person who legitimately has ADHD, however, the same brain scan will show reduced activity when Adderall is taken. It does not affect them the same. The purpose of the TUE criteria is to insure that only those with legitimate need take it.

The argument you note that real ADHD is over diagnosed is valid, however. Are there athletes with TUEs that should not be taking Adderall...probably. Is James one of them? We will never know.

Do you have a source for that scientific claim?

People say it would suck for JS7 to go out like this, but if he hangs around much longer he's going to be like Reed, getting lapped.

If James gets on the right program with the right people, he can definitely win another championship or two. Obviously, his tried and true program isn't currently working for him.

js7 has not been the same since he left Kawasaki. that program worked best for him . I myself thought it would get better with Suzuki but it hasn't . I'm not trying to make excuses for anyone but all year js7 has struggled with bike setup . from what a lot of us have seen in person and on TV dudes setup is so inconsistent . one week he is awesome the next week his suspension looks like crap . at that level and speed makes a huge difference. last week I was watching him and I saw it first couple of laps he is just fighting the bike . when he went 1-1 at high point you would have thought the team had it then he had some terrible luck with starts and all the ped stuff and hasn't been the same since. . who knows if he is done I doubt it like others have stated js7 still has some left in the tank .

It's also a recreational drug. That continually gets ignored in all of this.

anything unrelated to physical endurance boosts should not, imo, be part of any banned substance unless it's illegal across the board.

so performance enhancers like eye contacts, advil, coffee... lol i mean, i just don't see Adderall as a culprit for someone with nefarious intent for physical performance gains.

all in all, it was a distraction that's likely pushed him to his edge when you consider how undeservedly beaten up he's been by fans of the sports on forums like this one. as i said before, i just don't get it. he will be sorely missed when he does leave, because there probably won't be another like him. like Mike Tyson, that level of talent is almost impossible to recreate.

do u know that pro racers take Viagra before racing? kinda crazy, but its true, I for one am extremely ADD and addy's are no physical performance gains for me lol! otherwise id eat them like tic tacs on raceday lol!

There is nothing that is illegal across the board.

Also, Adderall can be and is used as a tool to increase physical endurance. For a person with ADD/ADHD, the drug helps one accomplish tasks that the individual may not find mentally stimulating, e.g. cardiovascular exercise.

If we used your standard of allowing " anything unrelated to physical endurance" than an argument can be made for HGH which can be ultra beneficial for recovery.

It's an unworkable standard.

Broc Hepler no longer races because of how many times and how hard he's whacked his head. What makes any of you think James may not be at this point himself? It's no secret that the Stewart camp is quite secretive. He's pounded his head into the ground so many times and usually at a higher rate of speed than most others. Just one downside of being the FMOTP.

I thew in "illegal across the board" meaning narcotics and illegal drugs. and yes, if HGH is ultra beneficiary to recovery (the whole point of PEDS in cycling for example) then of course it would be banned. Adderall just doesn't strike me as a drug a racer would take for nefarious physical gains. Compensating for ADD/ADHD seems a legit reason for its use, at least according to the medical field. The whole thing seems like an ill directed, red herring, and the point being -- it's all been a difficult ride in the media and with fans for this guy. I don't think he deserves it, and I wouldn't blame him if he quit as a result. I would however, blame the many who, for little to no reason, gave him such a hard time over the years. I think a lot of people should be frankly ashamed.

I have a feeling the failed test and uncertainty is really taking a toll. Or, he knows he's in for a big suspension and is just saying screw it. I have a feeling we've seen the last of JS7 which is a shame.

Well, the race report I read said he crashed in the whoops before the red flag and then felt dizzy, so he went back to the rig to rest. How many of you would want to talk to reporters after whacking your dome? Considering his concussion history, I would hope he skips next week. Might as well skip Dilla since he doesnt like that track anyway. Then would even have another week off before the final 2 races. Come back then and try to finish out the season strong.

No doubt the pressures of such heavy scrutiny from the authorities, "know it alls" in the moto-press...and possibly even all the amazingly stupid crap that flows so freely here & on other boards is taking its toll on him. How can it not? Racing is such a mental thing anyway, and I can only imagine it at that level. And add to that the medical problems with his little brother...

I think James would like to stay around, but the way he's riding now...along with the possibility of having to skip the 2015 SX season...why would he?

I get so sick of people saying "baddest ever" or "FMOTP" when RC put it to him. Did JS ever beat RC for a championship? JS was and is awesome and for sure is ONE of the best to race MX and SX, but to say best ever seems a stretch.

A lot of guys here keep stating that James was taking adderal, yet that is just what the Stewart camp tells us that it was. Didn't the test just confirm a drug that "might" be from adderal..."might" be from something else too...we don't know!
Could there be some performance enhancing drug that shows up the same in the test, and they know it, so they can just make a claim that it is adderal and everybody argues that adderal isn't performance enhancing, so he's OK to take "whatever" it is that the test is picking up.

If indeed it is the end of JS racing then thats sad, I have never been a JS fan but you have to recognise that he was a great rider, I wont get into the stupid debate as to whether he was the best ever or any of that BS....I just appreciate what he gave to the fans (whether I am one or not). Respect.

RC owned JS the whole time they raced together. Not saying JS didn't win BUT RC is the GOAT for a reason.

Why would that be a stretch? He changed the speed of the game, he basically single handedly changed our sport! Kept his bike lower and faster than anyone else. He's one of only two to have a undefeated season in outdoors, he's ranked second in the all time list in both sx/mx and still winning today against what i'd say is fastest few seasons ever witnessed in the age of sx/mx.
