Now that he he parting ways with Dunlop after the outdoors what tire is there besides Dunlop and Pirelli that is still competitive?
I'm assuming they are talking about Discount Tire. Would it be Bridgestone tires?

"According to Dunlop, Reed will finish out the season without Dunlop support. The speculation is that Reed will switch to Pirelli through TwoTwo Motorsports' title sponsor, Discount Tires, and the move is motivated by the need to secure sponsorship money."

Imo, pirelli are superior to dunlop, so that would be a smart move. The only dunlops that would go on my bike are free dunlops. They wear faster than any tire out there.

The custom Pirelli tires Team 22 will be running are on par with the Factory Dunlops IMO. For me, a Pirelli Scorpion compared to a MX11 is a joke. I would pay full price for a MX11 to avoid using a free scorpion. The lugs break when you contemplate riding anything other than powder, the lugs are thin, crack easily, the sidewall lugs don't grab when the bike is leaned over.....I haven't had luck with them.

How fast they wear is irrelevant to guys who don't pay for them. New ones each moto! Oh, and for practice too...

Dunlop would be the best since 99% of everyone runs them. If they sucked I don't think that would be the case. And by this point they have more data/ rider feedback than anyone so it would be hard for anyone else to catch up if they wanted to. If I remember correctly a tire development program to attempt to compete with dunlop was attempted when James was at JGR.
