That other thread was a good topic.. but let's reverseit.
Beat Kenny Bartram at Red Bud's night track the Friday before the national.
Not really beat him, but at a local SX in the 4 strk class (first year they did this, YZ400) In practice I was out front kind of checking things out made a lap.. Charlie Dunaway goes flying past kind of an aggressive move for practice I thought. So I pin it and square up a bowl corner, clean and get him back through a rythym section. We both looked at each other over a double and his look was priceless. He was on fire that year, I think it surprised him a nobody went by him. I let off after that with big confidence and just watched his lines.
He, smoked me in the race though, lol.
I also beat Nick Wey in a LL qualifier... his defense... was a bit muddy and it was my home favorite track.

My greatest "accomplishments" were hanging with Windham ('94?) for half a lap at Swan MX (before crashing hard) and running with Kevin Walker ('91?) for a lap at Montrose in NC (it was my first intermediate race and they staggered the experts with us. I couldn't find the line and kept crashing over and over. He lapped me, I fell in behind and something clicked).
Oh ya one time at Cahilla Creek in California I was putiing in some motos and I seen Ryan Hughes coming up on me so I tried to wick it up to see if I could keep him behind me for a corner or two but it did'nt last long OBV and he then proceeded to pass me and use me as a berm and about knocked me clean off my bike, I don't even think he knew , he just kept motoring on.....now that I think of it he prolly knew exactly what he was doing and laughing at me. hahaha

Actually, my relative Ray. Nobody famous, but he was a Pro A speed kinda guy. I rode with him at Rattlesnake Canyon, and I do pretty damn good in the washes.
on the freeway. Raced rental cars from Freestone to Dallas/Fort Worth
He passed me back three corners later off this big single down a hill into some crazy whooped out moguls. I remember looking over at the bottom of the hill and seeing him hit this huge kicker. His butt was about 3 feet off the seat, heels dug into the sides of the seat, panic revved. When the front tire hit the inside rut in the turn he never let off and that's the last time I saw him that moto.
