Uuuhhgg! So I came out of a 2nd gear sweeper yesterday , rear end passed me up ( luckily I didn't high side )......but the rear kept going.....and I did a full on set of splits. It hurt when I did it.......but holy crap am I sore today! I guess I have to get into some yoga classes or something.
Also bruised my side a little. When the splits got to the point of almost making me into a female , and the bike hit the ground , I let go of the bars and I got slapped to the ground pretty good. Knocked the wind out of me.....and it happened really fast.
First little wreck I've had on my Kawi......but man there were bikes and bodies down every where yesterday. Super hard ground with a layer of silt on top.....I mis-managed the throttle. Aching today for sure.

My knee joint healed 100%....I can jog 5K's no problem; and the doc that did the tib/fib says the ankle joint should heal 100% as well. Which means I can't wait to get back on the bike! Friends and neighbors think I'm absolutely nuts.....

I didn't feel any groin pain but my big toe immediately started hurting. I got back up and got restarted. My toe kept hurting really bad every time I had to shift. About halfway through the moto I could tell something was wrong with my toe nail because every time my foot moved inside my boot I could feel the nail moving.
Anyways, finished the moto and went back to the truck. Didn't even want to take my boot off because I knew it was bad. Finally pulled it off and took my sock off. My big toe nail was just peeled back and barely attached. The only thing that was holding it on was a little chunk of skin at the base of the nail. I figured by boot had peeled it back when i planted my foot during the splits.
That was my last moto of the day. Packed up and drove home. Didn't really know what to do if I should go to the hospital or not. Made the decision I would just go see my Dr. Monday AM. Later that night while trying to sleep, it was throbbing so bad. I had to get up in the dark to get some pain pills. Damned my luck....I stubbed that toe on our coffee table. It instantly took me to the floor and I was close to tears....one of the worst pains I have ever felt (way worse than breaking leg, collarbone, busted knees, etc.) After just laying there for a few minutes I got up to turn the light on to check it out, blood everywhere. Got it cleaned up and realized the toe nail was gone. Went back and there it was laying on the floor, ripped clean off.
Took about 1 week before I could walk on it without crutches. Never went to the Dr, but it grew back fine after a few months. I still to this day have fears of having to face this injury again.
Been there done that! Not cool.
My old lady did the splits waterskiing one time too, she had bruises on both thighs for ages, fuckin nasty!
Stretching is one of those things you don't do till you wish you did!
Just finished all my yard work for the day.......and it took me about 3 X longer than normal as I'm hobbling around like a 90yr old.
And BTW....I do have to start taking my stretching a little more serious. I don't do enough of it , or stetch as far as I should be able to.
