Tony Alessi, the gift that keeps giving.

I know people keep saying they feel bad for Mike, but I honestly feel bad for Tony. He loves his boys, loves the sport, and thinks in his mind that this is how an official team manager of an established team (open to interpretation) should act. His emotions will continue to get the best of him until he seeks some form of help, like a life coach or shrink, to get him to relax a bit and think things through a little more.

I do chuckle almost every time I hear his drops on the Pulp Show though.

They say things happen in threes, we have had 2 with James and Mike, who is going to be the third?

So why do you feel the need to tell the world about this ? You must really get off starting yet another Alessi bashing thread ......whatever gets your rocks off. But if you ask me, you whining like a baby makes you no better than the guy you are complaining about
You're telling me you would let someone get in your face, insult you, make threats, disrespect you and your work and you wouldn't put it out there? Especially given the dynamic here where he is reporting on a team/race and one of the participants goes off like this and has done so in the past, all without any justification. Matthes is a very patient guy cuz if TA did that to me, he would be in the Asterisk Medical unit wondering where his teeth went. Why not report it, TA has no problem making a huge scene in front of Matthes' peers on multiple occassions even, do you expect him to smile and say thank you? FYI, Matthes didnt start any "bashing thread" and he does his share to help out Mike Alessi and even his team, what exactly have you done?

And anyone referring this this 1st grade hand written note as a "contract" is a complete fucking moron.

The main thing we've learned here is that KennyT and whiskeybitch didn't graduate elementary school.

I haven't read 5 of these pages, but the nondisclosure agreement at the end of that contract is only valid to protect the document if it is signed by both parties.

Another thing, this contract needs to be signed by all parties. You can't have Steve Mathis sign it all by himself. That would make it a contract between himself and himself. There are clauses in there that concern MCR and other people. Those other people need to be informed of the contract and probably sign it, as well.

what a joke

WHO IS STEVE MATHIS
No it does not. First of all this is not the US were talking about so I have no idea if the UCC rules are equivalent to Canada. A non disclosure agreement doesn't have to be bilateral so only one party may have to not disclose any information. Secondly this contract in the US most likely does not have to be signed by both parties although the signatures help prove consideration on both sides.

Have u asked yourself why you got singled out on the contract?

Of the 20 or so teams in the pits how many would prefer u stayed away from their pits? U do have a cloud of drama surrounding u.

Did tony hurt your ego? How many managers would prefer u not to enter their pits? Maybe tony has the balls everyone else is lacking to just say beat it... The contract was was intended to jab your ego and it actually knocked u on the ground. There was a meaning behind the contract u should have picked up the vibe and left without a word spoken
This is so comically illogical. It looks like something a 5th grader would come up with? Tony...is that you?

Wow, you're about as cross wired as Tony. You sarcastically call this guy out about being "real mature" yet you call Matthes a whining cry baby, make up your mind. You're not painting the best portrait of yourself.

Or.. you could report on the "Monster rider dope cover-up story" or something else interesting. Or too scared? It's not exactly news that Tony is a turd sometimes.

Tony strikes me as a man who is trying to live his dreams through his kid. I see it all time in rugby. parents try to take control of every aspect of their kids lives. When you are at the game the parent always overshadows the performance of their kid by abusing the reff or going batshit crazy at the coach for subbing their kid.

Genova needs to fire Tony, but first lock mike into a new contract so Tony can't drag him away when he gets fired. loving your kid is not an excuse for been a jack ass, actions speak louder than intentions. Once tony is gone Genova needs to hire a real manager with actual sports management experience and a sports physiologist to sort mike out.

As for suggesting Matthes wants to publish negative stories about Mike Alessi and MCR... Why the hell would he deliberately go out of his way to rubbish someone for whom he is a goggle sponsor???

Tony is probably pissed at Matthes for flooring the Aerostar out of the Burger King drive thru before Frank Thomas could get his Burger King. #letfrankeat

And this is a perfect example of the dark side of social media. I highly doubt that this incident would make it into RacerX next month or that it would be reported by anybody officially. Matthes simply sends it out in a tweet and by the next morning it has reached more people than if they DID print it in the mag and we're all here discussing it. It's the perfect example of a "double edged sword". This story has wings because we all bought into it. It's no one else's fault.

And tony gave him the terms of the interview, instead of saying no thank you he provoked a meltdown...classy on his part.

Mathes a journalist? Give me a fucking break. A true journalist would write about worthwhile news of the sport , not whine about a personal disagreement
That's the thing, it's time (and has been for a while) for tony to decide if he's gonna be mikes dad or motoconcepts team manager. The two don't mix.

"I'm going to tweet this."

Come on, it's Tony Alessi.
Did you think he would ...

A: Smile and calmly say,"please don't don't tweet that ,Sir" then smile and walk away.

Or

B: Go off on tangent/meltdown yelling very loudly You MF'er! You are not protected up here you piece of shit! Everybody hates you in the USA & Canada! You are just here to talk shit on us! ((((( insert a few more profanity based names here)))))).

My answer is B. Smile

Anyway you slice it ,it's still some funny shit.

And guaranteed!
I bet Tony thought he was being clever and really thought that Matthes would sign that silly piece of paper.
Which just adds to the humor factor or should I say begins it.

Tony Alessi, a professional sports team manager for a high profile team goes off on a journalist and has a total meltdown in the pits and that's not news? Especially considering the past tony has with meltdowns and with said journalist? C'mon dude, get real!

You put the name of any other team manager in the pits having a meltdown and going off on a journalist and you don't think it would be news in our sport? In any sport?

Uh, Steve was interviewing Vince freise, not mike. What reason would mikes dad be shoving this "contract" in front of Steve to sign if all he's done is talk to Vince? He's not related to mike or tony. Tony is his team manager....of a race team that's high profile for all the wrong reasons.

I wouldn't sign the agreement either but I would not rush to twitter savoring in the meltdown. Your MO is conflict. U rub peeps the wrong way somehow u made a bad judgement going to a pit you are clearly not welcome at. U went seeking conflict knowing Tony's animosity toward you.

You don't read well do you? I have interviewed Mike/Cunningham under the MCR tent many times this year. I have had Mike on the show a few times. I haven't spoken to Tony in almost a year and wasn't planning on it today either. I didn't seek anything out other than a couple of interviews from riders about their day.
I just love the irony that everybody gives the media blame when they don't want to say something. Now you have the balls to tell everyone what truly happened and now everybody say you should have kept your mouth shut Laughing Some people are really hopeless. Steve, do not spend your energy in them and keep doing your good work Wink

Apparently MCR have appointed a new, more permissive media representative.

I'm not sure how anybody can defend Tony, this is his behavioral pattern...been doing it forever. Tony isn't smart enough to know when to take off the dad hat and put on the team manager hat and be professional at his job. I can't believe that anyone is surprised about this, it was predicted by many that putting Tony in as the team manager would be a disaster...and it has been beyond what anybody thought. It's sad really that Tony has take a team that was respected as the team that did things differently to an absolute joke banishing themselves to a second rate series (no offense to the Canadian Nationals but in comparison to the US nationals, it is) and has destroyed any credibility that MCR previously had.
Let's go back a few years and say Genova kept DV as the team manager, but still hired Mike (sans Tony) do you think the team would be in the same position?
