With all the distractions created by Tony, one has to wonder if some adderall would help Mike to stay focused on the task at hand.

The problem is to every rational person, Steve's handling of the incidents with your family appear even handed and professional.

After Washougal last year, Steve did not have Tony on the PulpMX Show to 'set him up'. He had him on the show to tell his side of the story. Is it Steve's fault Tony completely lost his marbles and provided all those comical sound drops which must irk Tony to this day? The only reason people still talk about your bad joke gone wrong at Washougal is because Tony made it such an absurd and comical event out it. If not for Tony...the whole issue would have been long forgotten before the season was even over.

The world and Steve Matthes are not out to get the Alessis or MCR. It was only 3 weeks ago that Mike was on the PulpPX show...and he was treated 100% professionally. If someone listens to that show without knowing the history, you could even conclude that Steve is a friend to Mike. About the only thing Steve even busted on Mike a little bit was how he thought it was going to be cold in Canada. Mike even laughed about it.

Mike was on from 1:23 to 1:41....

http://pulpmxshow.com/sites/pulpmxshow.com/files/podcasts/140602_pulpmx…

So, what on earth would lead any rational person to conclude that Steve is now 'desperate' to ambush MCR or Mike/Vince...and thus demand Steve sign a 'contract' to talk to Mike or Vince. The contract was 100x more interesting than anything Vince or Mike would have said about the race at Regina, and hence..what happened happened. If MCR had just let Steve interview the guys....you would have had a typical post race interview...and a chance to get more exposure.

Again...the world is not out to get you guys...but the fact that you are so paranoid and convinced they are is endlessly comical and entertaining to most people. It is amazing that Tony can not see that...and instead he just keeps feeding the fire.
damn, pretty much nailed it...

it is a comman complaint that the MX scene is very closed to the media, with injuries, salaries etc being hidden, do you think that the press should be restricted to reporting even more?

I wouldn't sign the agreement either but I would not rush to twitter savoring in the meltdown. Your MO is conflict. U rub peeps the wrong way somehow u made a bad judgement going to a pit you are clearly not welcome at. U went seeking conflict knowing Tony's animosity toward you.

You don't read well do you? I have interviewed Mike/Cunningham under the MCR tent many times this year. I have had Mike on the show a few times. I haven't spoken to Tony in almost a year and wasn't planning on it today either. I didn't seek anything out other than a couple of interviews from riders about their day.

I think Steve went seeking an interview.

I no longer will go poor Mike. He is an adult and a professional athlete. If he ever separates himself from that circus of a family he may earn back some fans. It's unfortunate that he has thrown away all his natural ability and hard work staying with his family.

It's hilarious that you want the media to sign a contract saying that your team has final say over editorial..it's amazing you would think this was cool but then the provision where the media guy can't tell anyone he signed it? Let's just humor that and say that this was somehow normal...you don't have a second copy for the media guy to take for his records?

If you're trying to be sneaky and underhanded by not giving someone a copy of what they sign AND you're trying to say that said person can't tell anyone about what they signed--well, in my opinion, you deserve to get called out for all the world to see.

More people should call out complete bullshit when it happens...maybe then there would be less bullshit in the world?
That guys going down!

I don't really care for either sides of the party. However this sport doesn't need this at the moment.

Its bad for the face of motocross/supercross

How are we meant to grow the sport, get more positive publicity and have more sponsors etc, when we have this going on?

It's already a hard sport to make in due to the lack of support. If it indeed is Tony who is making all this mess, He needs to take a look at the bigger picture to see that he's hurting motocross as a professional sport and not just his son and team.

Would you take the note and run off, then tweet about it and post a picture of it? After being told the note stays here?

Have u asked yourself why you got singled out on the contract?

Of the 20 or so teams in the pits how many would prefer u stayed away from their pits? U do have a cloud of drama surrounding u.

Did tony hurt your ego? How many managers would prefer u not to enter their pits? Maybe tony has the balls everyone else is lacking to just say beat it... The contract was was intended to jab your ego and it actually knocked u on the ground. There was a meaning behind the contract u should have picked up the vibe and left without a word spoken

I haven't read 5 of these pages, but the nondisclosure agreement at the end of that contract is only valid to protect the document if it is signed by both parties.

Another thing, this contract needs to be signed by all parties. You can't have Steve Mathis sign it all by himself. That would make it a contract between himself and himself. There are clauses in there that concern MCR and other people. Those other people need to be informed of the contract and probably sign it, as well.

what a joke

We are often our own biggest hurdle - Tony Alessi is a case study.

- In FL, JS7 is thanking Team Alessi.

- In CA, Ryan Hughes is (who am I kidding, he is too authentic for this bullshit gossip on VitalMX)

- Steve, I believe you were talking about the TA issues in last weeks PulpMX. The Irony.... LMAO

What's next? 7 days from the next national. I am seriously thinking about taking a 7 day vacation from VitalMX.

Exactly......give us news that is useful. Not tattletale over some personal disagreement between a couple guys that don't care for each other . Tony acted like a child and Mathes acted like a little baby by tweeting about. Time for both of them to grow the fuck up. It s really sickening to see

I think Steve went seeking an interview.
And tony gave him the terms of the interview, instead of saying no thank you he provoked a meltdown...classy on his part.

Tony Alessi, a professional sports team manager for a high profile team goes off on a journalist and has a total meltdown in the pits and that's not news? Especially considering the past tony has with meltdowns and with said journalist? C'mon dude, get real!

You put the name of any other team manager in the pits having a meltdown and going off on a journalist and you don't think it would be news in our sport? In any sport?
Two things you have very wrong here . You are calling Tony a professional sports tema manager of a high profile team? He is Mikes dad

Mathes a journalist? Give me a fucking break. A true journalist would write about worthwhile news of the sport , not whine about a personal disagreement

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! NO FUCKING WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! i AM SICK AND TIRED OF THEIR BAT SHIT CRAZY ANTICS AND THIS WAS THE LAST STRAW FOR ME. i AM OVER THESE PEOPLE ................. THAT HANDWRITTEN PIECE OF SHIT CONTRACT AND TONYS OUTRAGEOUS DEMANDS TO SIGN IT IS ENOUGH.

HEY MATTHES WHY DONT YOU AND RACERX GET TOGETHER AND BLACKBALL THEM (All things Aless)i FROM THE MEDIA???? OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND AND THEY WILL DISAPPEAR UN-GRACEFULLY, THE MORE ATTENTION YOU/WE PAY TO THESE SAVAGES THE MORE THEY WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE THE SPORT A BLACK EYE. Just stop reporting and mentioning them completely since it appears they are doing that to you (Matthes) and the other Magazines, then watch what happens Racerx, TWMX, MXA etc....just quit mentioning them and their lame behavior and "The Universe" will correct itself. Please cut off their "Water Supply" (i.e. The Media) and things will get back to normal.

, WHY CANT YOU PEOPLE JUST STFU AND RACE THE GODDAM DIRTBIKE???!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Over here, when Sports Team Managers/Coaches etc have a meltdown like Tony does it makes Play of the Day at the end of the Sports report. ha

I'd like to see it as a movie.

Tony is a good guy, and so is Mike, it's just a shame they get involved in so much controversy. Poor guys can't catch a break, but I guess they bring it upon themselves.
