DeCoster.

KTM would go back to what it was before he got there and fixed their bikes.

I'd say Stewart. His days of challenging Carmichael, doing a perfect season, and his win it or wear it style definitely makes a huge impact on the sport. Villopoto is close, his stats of winning every professional outdoor championship he completes puts him at an RC-like level, and his 4-peat in SX. Reed's story and coming from Australia to winning 2 SX titles, an outdoor title, and regional title. His roller coaster career is impressive by always overcoming adversity, and he definitely will make a huge impact at the end of his career as well. Everyone else doesn't really strike me as someone "Making an impact", at least over the top three listed.

No one who leaves the sport will have much of an impact on it. SX and MX goes on. Racers make an impact only when they are racing.

I think"that"guy (not on the list) has already left and has made a huge impact, in Kdub. I just don't know if that impact will be reached again..... If I'm forced to pick right now It would be Trey Canard, after so many ups and downs no question the guy loves being on his dirt bike.

No surprise that Stew is atop your list, but I agree.

Did you feel this way when RC retired?

There is only one 'top rider'. If the champ quits, the game resets.

I will take the bait. RV1..................by the farthest...... it would allow someone else to win a SX championship. Next it would be
Dungey. The 2 most dominant riders of the last 5 years. In my opinion and in the same spirit the OP started the thread Shocked

No disrespect to Ryan or yourself, but the way I see it, I think James would be more greatly missed if he quit right now. To me, the longer they stick around, the more of their fans they gain, or regain. Not many people want to see the same person win all the time, which Ryan has been doing a lot of lately. Of the latest greats (MC, RC, JS, RV), I think RV may be the least missed. Although RC retired earlier than most before him, he completed almost all of his series' and won 15 championships. Stewart hasn't been as successful championship wise, but he is second on the all-time SX wins list and has definitely proven his place among the top few with crazy talent, an undefeated outdoor season, and a style that changed the way everyone rides a dirt bike. It will suck to see any of them go. "The sport" is a pretty vague term. If we are talking racing specifically, RV quitting would make it a toss up and James quitting would make it a snooze fest. That's a pretty big impact either way.

RV2.

If RV left/leaves, there will be an immediate and very noticeable vacuum with many (5+) people looking to fill his spot at the top. The rest of the riders are filler at this point in time.

None of them, the sport survived when Bob, Ricky J, Jeremy and Ricky C all retired, if anything it raised to a new level when each of them left.

In my opinion all the vets have made there mark already, so this leaves only roczen. I believe he wld make the biggest impact if he left as I think he is going to be the next big tittle winner hence leaving wld leave all these tittles on the table..,., only my opinion

We'd have good championship fights with RV out.

When Chad and James go tho the sport is completely different era.

Is it so hard to believe that the rider missed the most....is by the fans of that particular rider?

If you're Stewart fan.....of course you would miss him the most. The exact same thing could be said about RV.

The difference is..( wait for it )........usually when a champion walks away or finally gets dethroned and then leaves.....that's when they are missed the most. Not just in a fans aspect.....but the sports aspect.

Some of you guys let your ball licking take over your rational thought. Have a hard time even comprehending what fans of other riders think. Fuckin' cracks me up.

I don't think sourpuss, sour-grapes, debbie downer, negative nancy or oh nevermind Sad would be missed that much! Tell RV to cheer up uncle, he just won his 4th SX c'ship in a row, go to Disney World!Laughing

Oh, James would be missed the most!Wink
