Due to KTM s dominance in the 85 ccm category Kawasaki upgraded their KX 85 for 2014.
Now there is rumors that they will release an all new KX 125 2 stroke in 2015.
Is there anyone who have more info on this topic ?

Getting rid of the 125 class ( or close to it ).....was the biggest mistake the big four ever made. Basically we have kids coming strait off the 85's....to a 250F which dang near pulls the same kind of power our older 250 2 strokes did.....just a little more controllable.
Out of any 2 stroke class alive......the 125 class is the most important out of all of them! Always has been....and always will be! IT IS the best " transitional bike " ever made.........staying comfortable with the 2 stroke power , but being able to adjust to a full size bike.....is priceless experience in my eyes!

When the 250F came and 125´s almost vanished, the need and lack of the 125 became more and more visible. It became clear that the gap from a 85ccm to a 250F was too big of a step for many riders. The rise in serious accidents and 3 young deaths from sweden in one season made it clear that something had to be done.
The Norwegian federation made a new national class in 2011 : MX Junior 125, from the year u turn 14 - 18 year of age.
This class is now in 2014 one of the biggest at the national races.
FIM and Youthstream also have the European 125 Championship EMX 125 a series of 8 races that follows the World championship with massive success.
Why should the big four sit and watch KTM gather almost 100% of the market in this class?
Maybe Kawasaki want a pice of that cake ?
Also, how many families leave the sport after the transition from 85's to 250f's because they either watch their child auger themselves in to the ground over and over again or find the steep financial curve that it costs to go from maintaining an 85 to maintaining a 250f. There's no easy transition.
