What if tickles leg or hip got broken?..hell - Tickle could have broken his neck with the resulting crash - The AMA needs to decide if they want the sport filled with "bad guys and good guys" like WWE wrestling does, or if they want a legit racing series.
Fine amount aside I also agree with others that there should be a suspension and series penalties levied - ie: cannot compete in next 3 SX races, 0 points for the Atlanta race.,get a -25 point penalty on already earned points...Essentially take the rider out of the points standings. This would in line with what every professional racing organization on the planet does.
But I also don't like the fine.
A stern talking to, a probation should be enough. Let the racers race...if he does it again, toss him for the series. Don't fine anyone, though.

But, if the AMA issued a one year probation to Mike, 7 months ago, and they're both AMA events,
seems to me it doesn't matter who the ref was or is.
Or series, a year in AMA is a year in AMA.
Hate to say it, but if I have a rider fighting for a position in AMA SX points standings,
and Alessi is right above my guy, I'd have to file a protest to can his butt and move my team up a notch.
I'd owe it to all on my team to achieve the best finish in the series, with all the tools given to me.
I'd have to pull the fine from 7 months ago, and have a real good look at the wording on that one.

I'm liking that the semi's are back and if we could just get the 125s and 250 back I'd be good. As far as everything goes, I fully agree regarding the destination of the sport, too much commercial BS, too much marketing and not enough men, but you can't do that shit at this level. Its hard enough staying healthy for a full season, you should have to worry about stuff like that. You can't ban people, and you can't start a precedent of suing people, but I am sure that's coming. To Mike's credit, he used it to turn in a good ride, but its all for not, and pretty sure a 6th only pays about $1200.

This shows a very bad epidemic in our world now. It is called lack of respect. I am going to keep my kids off social media as long as I possibly can. People just spout off stuff with no regard because they aren't face to face.

Did Alessi look like he was actually racing - as in trying to choose a rut and go fast through the turn?
Clearly the answer to my child's question is no.
His best chance for a title are behind him.
