I don't have any pictures handy, but that's the exact bike I started on, same colors and everything. Even had a similar helmet, haha. I remember riding that thing nonstop in circles around my parent's house getting blisters on my thumbs like crazy. I'm guessing we may be around the same age. Mid to late 20's?
Yep, round the same age... Moto Star I think the helmet was? I rode that around for hours too, ended up blacking-out and trying to ride up 3 steps... Didn't get hurt.Laughing

It was a PW50. I was three years old at the time so I think in was a 97, a blue one!

2000 kx250. Height of the stock market bubble, my dad bought it for me new, 5k OTD, said he only paid $400 for the stock he sold to buy it for me.

My MR50 painted up to look like a Bultaco.

My Bultaco Chispa. Yeah it's a Bultaco theme.

I had one of these bad boys!! I tuned it with my big brother and it went about 75 km/h. Broke both forks, for trying to jump a veeery very small single bumb in the forest path!

My brothers first bike, (with me on it)... Poor bugger went to buy it with my brother in-law. He rode a PE, amongst other things, so he was in the know.Laughing

I got this in 1995. A 1974 Hodaka Dirt Quirt 100. I still have it.

1998 LEM LX 50. I will never forget the day my dad picked it up and brought it home.

You used to see heaps of LEM's back in the '90s. What happened to them?

my first bike was a 1970 JT60 MINI ENDURO, my mom bought for me when a Yamaha dealer had an auction. She thought it would take all summer to get it to run. Later that day we where ripping up the dirt. 32 years later she says its her fault I get hurt racing yet. Still have it, hope to restore it soon. If anyone can fix this link so it is an embedded photo please do.

This is what I learned to ride on.Did Suzuki offer their"hop up" kit in the US?That little 50 can make a very pipey 12 hp.Guy that owned it would have to clean the plug every time I finished because I couldn't keep it in the powerband.Good times!

I think they may have been a subsidiary of KTM, so they may have just absorbed the brand.

Edit: scratch that, it's an Italian company...... Don't know what happened, but you're right they used to be much more popular

My kids dug deep into my Moms Garage to pull this out for me on our Anniversary... It was in storage for close to 30 years. Cleaned the carb, filed the points and Voila!! She fired right up, hehe.
Both of my kids took it for a spin and I ALMOST got "Alessi-like" with the tears, lol.
That is my sons first bike ('06... which became my daughters first bike) in behind the '78 btw.

None of yall had one of these pieces of shit? My first bike/thing mixed the oil for ya, lol:

I also started this addiction on a 1974 Honda MR50! Rode the poop out of that thing!

Got a wild hair...and in 2008, I found one on ebay and restored it. I keep it nice and safe on display in our finished basement, and when ever I look at it, it makes me smile and remember how fun it was to be 9 year old back in the day.
