At first glance I didn't like it either but now I do. Good navigation and it's fast!

Funny thing is, that picture, that size could actually work with their new site Tongue

The dude who designed it was clearly working on a massive screen! It's so damn big and bloated...

The layout is fine, it just needs to be scaled down and tightened up - substantially.

I'm not digging all of it. It is much faster though. I am having trouble seeing the font against the stark white background and the super-long vertical nature is lame. This is what happens when you let 20 year olds make your choices for you. There must be a cute intern with huge tits that made DC all googly eyed and he bobble headed a yes to this new layout without realizing what he had done.

way to much going on.
Why fix something that is not broken. The only positive is the it adapts to all devices

A guy posted a CSS fix in the comments of one of the posts. If you use Chrome or Firefox as your browser, you can download stylebot or stylish and use it to make the site look like this.

Think that might be the go.

I was a fan of the old one, it was so easy to log on and see all the latest news, latest updates and features for the day without touching a button and if you missed logging on for a day just scroll down a little and there was yesterday's updates.

Now you log on see one feature four news articles and a video unless you want to go for a scroll. I guess in this social network age people are used to scrolling down the page to see older news, guess it will be the same with web sites. Though personally myself I very rarely scroll down a page very far if at all, must be getting old lol.

A lot of the sites are going this way, guess it is either a matter of getting used to them.

The good thing with the RacerX site though, at least with the new layout if you are a scroller you can keep scrolling down and see everything that has been posted for at least the last two weeks without hafting to up to the menu up the top and start searching.

If I miss Monday Conversation this week, I at least have two weeks to catch and read it Smile

Hopefully it grows on me.

No doubt they struggled with trying to include absolutely as much content and advertisement possible into an extremely responsive layout (the layout adapts to the width of the browser / device, try re-sizing your window to see it change.) Not easy for sure considering the amount of advertisement they're trying to squeeze in (which is a topic of it's own...)

I do like the simplicity of the layout using three category columns for Features / Latest News / Videos. Like Klootzat said, you'll get used to it and like it better before you know it. A lot of thought goes into layout revamps like these and they're for the better -- the old one for example was a turd on iPad and to a lesser extent phones.

I like it. It's a pretty cool design and very responsive. I think it's much, much worse for skimming and finding articles now that it's stretched out and you have to scroll down a zillion times (instead of just flipping through their features/news boxes.) But this layout will make them way more money, I'm sure the old way was not getting enough eyeballs around the rest of the site.

I dig it. The monster Hero images in the articles are ridiculous though.

The 'Report' button next to each post in the comment section is long overdue.

I don't envy the person employed to deal with all the alerts though.
