I cant think of any suzuki 250 teams since rockstar racing switched. Am i wrong here? As a fan of suzukis (even though i ride a honda) it bums me out that they are not even making a semi valid effort for the 250 class.

Suzuki really sucks the sack when it comes to support. No amateur roster, no 250 roster, and I would even be surprised to see more than 1 Suzuki in the night shows in the 250 class. Pretty sad

Yep, and when the guys on the zook do well, not much mention or recognition from zook either. Been on the receiving end of that and it's just, gay. But the bikes are sikk

What about Motoconcepts?

Maybe Suzuki has it right. Manufactures need to support more riders or don't support any riders at all. The racing will be better and more fair when the manufacture gets out of running their own race teams.

It doesn't work like that when you're the only manufacturer playing that game. . .

I would hate to see what Suzuki is still paying Carmichael, I highly doubt Lloyds of London would write a policy for him based on the fact that his probability odds of winning the title where pretty high. I'm sure once he's payed off you'll see Suzuki back at it with more guys.

Back in the 80's and early 90's Suzuki had great contingency and I recall seeing half the starting gate of privateers all on yellow bikes.

Times have changed.

It's a bummer for sure! Hopefully Suzuki will start to rebuild in the near future. If Stewart ends up missing races through injury, Suzuki won't have much of a presence at all.

Also, apart from the primary MX1 and MX2 team, there really are not a lot of Suzuki's out there in either class.

No one can expect a brand bringing more than one factory team to the circuit. Read an interview not long ago with Sylvain Geboers. The team seems promising and more effort put into the MX2 class is always good. Picking up Glenn Coldenhof is proof to me that they are willing to go the distance. Honda World will also run an MX2 team for next season.

That's right. Zero Zook in MX1 and MX2 next year, except Team Factory (Geboers).

They didn't get Factory support. That's why they ran black or white...

Maybe they are being fiscally responsible and not pissing away money on something that doesnt give a return-on-investment. Id rather them not hire any racers at all and put money towards making a great bike available. At the end of the day, they are a 'for profit' company, and I respect any decision they make to keep the doors open. Sometimes you gotta sell your best cow to save the farm.

And one of the best performing bikes too, 250 and 450 would be my choice if I bought one (second to a 150sx and all the cool 250 2strokes - Yamaha, Husky, Gas Gas, KTM).

You are seriously trying to blame RC for Suzuki not having enough rider support? I don't even know what to say to that. . .

Are you sure, I thought 80's and 90's privateers were dominated by Honda?

When American Suzuki filed for bankruptcy, I feel confident in saying there probably isn't much money to spend on race teams at this time.

Suzuki's bankruptcy had nothing to do with saving the company. They own everything they have with little to no debt and are a cash rich company. When they set up the corporation knows as "American Suzuki Motor Corporation", it included everything like outboard engines and autos. To exit the auto business in the US, they had to reorganize the corporation. Some people call this bankruptcy, but it was not done to keep the company from going out of business.

Cant afford a 250 team, still making making monthly payments on those Dungey win bonuses owed to him from three years ago...

So next time your piston or 3rd gear blows out on your new RMZ you can thank Dunge for forcing Suzuki to make the parts out of pot metal...Smile

I think there may have been a glimmer of amateur racing in his comment? Suzuki had a great amateur contingency program at that time.

I was wondering how long before someone posted up slamming Zook qualityWhistling .NIce try!!! The only thing on an RMZ that seems "cheap" are their stock bolts....the bolt heads are brutally soft!!! The bikes themselves are awesome.

They also stopped making the RM85 in 2012. We have, at one time or another, rode all the brands and the Zooks handle and turn in a rut better then any bike on the market. They are just hurting from poor car sales. Just wait, they will be back.

I hate to say it but the bonuses Suzuki paid between R.C, C.R, and R.D had to put a hurting on them..... Who would have guessed?
