When you find your set you will love them......have several rides on them now and have all the sags correct and all that is left is fine tuning the oil level....took 25cc out of the left leg this afternoon and will ride tomorrow or SundaySmile

Tim 507 what did it cost u? U get the shock to? Hows hood do they work? I got full ohlins on my 13 450. And they are absolutly amazing. Ktms seriously lack in the suspension department. I had 8 revalves on my 11/12 bikes. Used f/c and mx tech. Mx tech was good but extremly over priced. I payed over2 k for his best set up. And performance wise its not even in the same league. AKIT has to be a huge improvement over ohlins. I couldnt amagine how good they eork

Well, then you will like Jason. He will set you right with Ohlins or Showa for the KTM

Jason Beck does EXCELLENT work. Not only that but he will answer the questions and help with the fine tuning. He did our 2013 250SXF, you couldn't ask for a better setup.

I had a pro licence when I was younger, im 36 , and race 25A /30A vet expert. Top 3. . I can get it done. I love ktms, just think they come with 2×4s for suspension.

Tommy Searle seems to like the WP's, so much so he is using them on his Kawi.

But also not going to be full on factory KTM spec.

What Tommy is using is probably obtainable from their powersports SSX range. That couldn't be more expensive than even procircuit kit nevermind showa 'A' kit.

Is that only because the CLS Pro-Circuit Kawasaki team is being paid to run MP?

no- its because that's the set up he prefers. Shaun Simpson also switched to white power suspension this year on his Yamaha 450- not long after the switch he won the lierop gp (and also rode at the des nations)

Both riders charged all weekend on a super rough track. Searle's results were obvious but simpson came through the pack with Barcia after being under Barcia's bike in the first turn melee.

yeh shaun was very unlucky at the nations- winning a gp at lierop says a lot though! must have a pretty good suspension set up to win a gp at the roughest/ toughest track in the world!

So here's what I don't get.....where do you get off giving this guy shit for having the means to go out and buy an ohlins kit? Who cares if he used to be pro or races the d class? Ohlins is in this sport to sell their product to guys like him. Same with pro circuit, fmf, factory connection, etc. They don't invest a crazy amount of money producing this stuff so maybe one day johnny hotshit will run their stuff for free. They do it so the local guy will buy it and the company can profit. Local guy is uber stoked on his new suspenders, company is stoked on the fat stack of cash he dropped on them. You're the only one in this equation who seems butt hurt.

Yeah I kinda gotta agree.

If this dude can afford it or wants to do it, good for him. Fuck knows I went over the top with my last 300... I'll prolly do it again! And I am slow!

Nothing worse than moto people giving other moto people shit for their bikes being a piece of trash or done up over the top. Doesn't change the fact that we all just love riding!

WP is supposed to start offering A-kits in the US. Not unlike KTM Factory Services. How close they are to factory parts I guess is still unknown. You can find out here. WP Racing USA

My buddy just put a set of Factory WP A-Kit suspension on his Dungey Replica and it is the real deal!

They are worth it IMHO.

You are correct, I received an email a few weeks back from one of my suppliers that they will soon have WP A-kit available for all Japanese brands.

This for sure.........I'm certainly not rich LOL but the 12 step program did not work for me so the only way to deal with my addiction is to go in head first (yes there tooooooSmile )

The action of the A-kit is just awesome....even when set up extremely stiff there is no spike, deflection or hit to the wrist or the forearm.

As I am setting the suspension up...there is an area near my home with all kinds of terrain features: Rock faces, sand, hard pack, boulder fields, whoops..............the process of getting them dialed is actually fun! With OEM forks the variables are great and the process is painful. Yes it can be done! But with the good stuff it is fun and incredibly motivating.

The rider feedback is so good from good quality components that I am motivated to try small increments of oil height change and even experiment with different oils. I am also ready to learn how the link affects the whole package. A question I have already asked but it seems there is not a knowledge base readily available. The question is: Does the length of the link alter the CG of the bike:

Physical fitness and good suspension is the key components to build the confidence one needs to get faster on a dirt bike!! JMHO

Yes it seems that some people don't like the idea of old, fat and slow guys owning a bike that's nicer than what factory and ex factory riders own. Notice I said "own".

Always blows me away when I hear of some superstar moto god that doesn't own a decent bike or even a bike at all. When Ryan Hughes was looking to race Hangtown a year or two ago he was looking for a bike that was worthy of his efforts or else he wouldn't ride. Mentioned that all he had was a clapped out 09 stock YZ450. That's basically his livelihood. Just find it odd.

Tim, in a nutshell the longer link will lower the back of the bike and rid the chassis of a stink bug feel. I noticed that feel on the '13 350 and '13 450 I tested, but not as bad as say the '09-'10 CRF 450. Even though the bike will be pitched back, the longer link makes the first part of the stroke slower as to not squat initially and help plant the front end in corners. The end of the stroke becomes a little softer so the rear will track better in the chop because there is less of a spike in the linkage curve. Kind of like lowering the oil level in the forks to smooth them out.

Slip what does a shorter link do? So the longer link helps plant the front end - interesting. I would think that it would lengthen the trail a bit

Another question: Would a longer link - less rear race sag also make the front end stick and steer better?

What I am dealing with well may be rider responsiblitySmile Having ridden a 450 4T for the last 15 years. LOL
