Here's how it'll work on the Supercross format. Don't get there late, as the 450 heat races will go off first, and will transfer four riders each. Semis will qualify five each, and the LCQ will take four.
If you're doing the math, that's 22 rider, and there will be 22 riders in both the 450 and 250 mains. The 250 LCQ will also transfer four riders.

More racing, less downtimes, 4 riders from the LCQ, all good IMO.
If they know they have to crack the top 4-they're gonna turn it up!

It's better racing at the LCQ when it's more go for broke.
250 heats - 6 laps
450 Heats - 8 laps
450 Semis - 6 laps
250 LCQ - 4 laps
450 LCQ - 6 laps
Don't tell Regis but this is almost the same format they ran 25 years ago in SX with the exception of 4 riders from the LCQ instead of 2.
Pit Row
Any word on the lap count, Guyb?
And 22 riders on the main gate? Holy hell that is awesome!
Now if they would just bump the laps up to 25........I don't think you could ask for anything else.
Six-lap heats, and five-lap semis for the fo-fiddys. Four-lap LCQs.
Now that the 450 class will have 22 riders there's not much more to ask for....well except for timed main events. Given the depth of talent in the 450 class I don't like at 21st and 22nd as more lappers. I look at it that two additional hard working racers will be able to hone their craft further by getting this much needed race seat time.
Feld did good on this one.....real good. I also have to think both John Gallagher's with the FIM and Kevin Crowther's with the AMA fingerprints can be found on this great news too.
I'm really blown away on this one...........nice when change is as positive as this is!
